Climbing at Huuhkajavuori, tossing at Hiekkaharju Loviisa offers a wide range of fun activities both outdoors and indoors. But did you know that there are also great climbing areas and one of the best 18-hole frisbee golf courses in southern Finland?
Nearby lakes Särkjärvi and Kukuljärvi offer a great opportunity to refresh after climbing.
Both of Loviisa’s climbing rocks are located in Ruotsinpyhtää: Huuhkajavuori, which is near the Kukuljärvi recreation area and Haukkakallio, which is close to the sandy beach of Särkjärvi. The Huuhkajavuori climbing routes have upper anchors and most of the routes are bolted. The routes are short, but you may find some of them challenging. The other climbing area, Haukkakallio, is located approximately three kilometres from Huuhkajavuori. It is a large uniform cliff which offers 105 routes. The routes are maintained by the association Släbi ry, which also organises annual rock climbing courses to anyone interested. An 18-hole frisbee golf oasis is located at the Valko sand ridge; the route takes you through the forest and across the beautiful hilly and rugged landscape of the sandy ridge. Children, adolescents and adults can practise frisbee throwing, which requires precision. Frisbee golf is one of the best ways to relax and spend time together outdoors. 25
