25 April 1943 - 22 August 2009 This day is remembered and quietly kept, No words are needed, we shall never forget, For those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day. Unseen and unheard, but always near, So loved, so missed, and so very dear. It has been one year since we had to say goodbye for now. Every day in some small way you continue to touch our hearts. Your warmth, your smile and your unwavering love is treasured by us all. Your loving husband Bruce, Children Kevin, Shawna (Richard), Daryl (Robyn) and your grandchildren Olivia, Nicolas, Peyton and Mason.

OBITUARIES

AMES, Marjory Anne Passed away August 15, 2010 at Peace Arch Hospital at the age of 95. Marjory is survived by her husband Cecil Edward Ames, also grandchildren Tammy/Glen, Matthew, Sarah, Andrew and Davey. Also 3 great grandchildren. Marjory was known for her kind, outgoing generosity, her devotion to her family, and bible based work throughout the years. Her life long passion for art/drawing reflected in all areas of her life, managing to make a career out of it doing fashion drawings for the Bay advertising dept. continuing on in commercial signs for several years after. Marjory left a memorable impression with all whom she knew. We are all grateful for the treasured times that we spent with her. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (24th & 148 St) on Saturday August 28th at 2pm.

OBITUARIES

Dr. (Edwin) Peter Robin passed away quietly and with dignity in hospital on August 15, 2010; like his wife who passed in 2008, he also loved and was loved and greatly respected by all those who knew him. He will be remembered for his humility, kindness, and great generosity. Peter was born in Prince George, BC on January 1st, 1923 to Alfred and Clara (Nelson) Robin. He grew up living in the train station at Hutton, where his father was station master. He went to school in a one room school house with his brother and three sisters in Sinclair Mills. He left Hutton before finishing school and became a radio operator in various parts of northern BC. He joined the merchant Navy as a radio operator near the end of the Second World War and sailed to various parts of the world including Africa. Upon his return, he continued with his radio operating and soon joined partnership in a radio store, Duke-Robin Radio and Electric, in New Westminster while attending school to get his high school diploma. He then went on to UBC where he received his Zoology degree and then on to get his medical degree. In 1954 he graduated as a member of the first graduating class from the new Faculty of Medicine at UBC. During his medical internship at Shaughnessy Military Hospital, he met Rose Galbraith who was to become his loving wife of 52 years. Peter began his practice in White Rock in 1957 and continued to reside and practice there until his retirement in 1989. Following his retirement Peter and Rose continued to live in White Rock until 2004 when they moved to Duncan, BC. Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Rose, his brother Ernest, and his sister Linnea. He is survived by his 3 children John (Janis), Janet, and Joan (Deni) and his grandchildren, Ashleigh (Kane), Chrissy, Katie (Adam), Vicki, Tracy, Peter, Heidi, Jenny, CJ, Duncan and Claire and his great-grandchildren, Alix and Marcus. He is also survived by his sisters Sylvia and Anna and his nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins, relations and friends across the country and around the world. He was greatly loved and will also be missed by the many international students he and his wife, Rose “adopted” over the years. Services were held Thursday, August 19th, 3:00 pm at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Duncan, BC and interment Saturday, August 21st, 10:00 am in Victoria where he will be buried with his wife at Hatley Memorial Gardens.

Miklós Péter Kovacsics was born November 2, 1941 in Budapest and died August 11 at his home in White Rock following an illness. Mike leaves his wife of 37 years Mary (Mather) MacDonald; son Angus and his wife Agnes, son Blair and his partner Alicia Buck; sister Muci Medve and her family; sister-in-law Jane and her husband Peter and their family; and many close friends. Mike came to Canada after the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, earned his BA and MA at UBC, and worked as an agricultural researcher and entrepreneur. Mike was a devoted husband, stepfather, friend, inventor, aviator, fisherman, explorer and cat enthusiast. A memorial service was held on August 15. Special thanks to Dr. Charles King. If you wish to donate please give to the BC Cancer Foundation.
