Dancing Shoes Roboshi vs Toyi Toyi Baleni in title fight NCEBA DLADLA FIREWORKS could be expected when Uitenhage’s Lonwabo “Dancing Shoes” Roboshi locks horns with Mthatha pugilist Siphamandla “Toyi Toyi” Balenifor the South African Miniflyweight title over 12 rounds in Mthatha Town Hall on 3 July. At stake will be the crown left vacant by the stablemate of Baleni’s, Simphiwe “Chain Reaction” Khonco, the number six rated WBA contender, who is the WBA Africa Miniflyweight and Interim World IBO

Minimumweight champion. Khonco is pencilled in to face WBA Miniflweight kingpin Hekkie The “Hexecutioner” Budler later in September in a fight his mentor Madoda “One-more-Time” Dyonase believes they will win. An upbeat Dyonase believes that Toyi Toyi Baleni is fired-up and ready to take up where Khonkco left off. According to Dyonase, the Eastern Cape title holder and SA title mandatory challenger Baleni, with six wins and four losses behind his name, has got what it takes to emulate Khonco and bring the title home.

Third ranked Roboshi who carries the record of 10 fights, eight wins (5KOs) with two losses believes this fight will catapult him to stardom. According to his trainer Mlawuli Nawule, come the fight night, Roboshi will break the spell of the Mecca of boxing, Nelson Mandela Bay being without a national title from their male pugilists for more than 10 years, save for Nomampondomise Xotyeni who is the female SA Junior Lightweight titlist. Since losing to Nhlanhla Ngamntwini at Orient Theatre in East London in February 2012, Roboshi has

been on the upward mobility, stopping a game Mzwamadoda Jibiliza in four rounds, Khwezi Antonie in two and Mziyanda Links also in the two rounds. The question is, will Roboshi continue to shine against Baleni on July 3 in the latter’s backyard, or will Baleni up the ante and show the world that he was indeed worthy of his trainer's praises? Lonwabo “Dancing Shoes” Roboshi is aiming at the vacant South African Miniflyweight title.

Nkohla denies City a win in ABC Motsepe SELBY MADIKANE SUBS goalkeeper Lwando Khune Nkohla denied Real City some goals when his side salvaged a hard fought 2-1 win in their ABC Motsepe League at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Saturday. City came to the game with guns blazing but the tactical discipline of SUBS paid dividends. SUBS skipper Sikhumbuzo Mshweshwe delivered a perfect pass to Lizo Mahala who slotted the ball into the back of the net. City came up strongly as they were searching for their opening goal. Moments later City equalised when their marksman Lukhanyo Sherriff Rasmeni headed home a spectacular goal catching Nkohla off guard. Dickinson and his technical team joined hands to make a tactical substitution of Mayenzeke Sokunentsa, Dumisani Notshoba and Xola Ndzima. City skipper Landile Libazi struck a rocket at close range but Nkohla was equal to the task. SUBS skipper Mshweshwe, who was playing in the centrefield earlier, became a central striker and he combined well with Sithembiso Maloni. City half back Lingelihle Gcwabe contained Maloni for almost the whole game. Just before the fat lady sang, Maloni scored a winning goal from the corner kick to guide SUBS to a 2-1 win.
