Bra Ben Nomoyi celebrates 40 years of film, TV NCEBA DLADLA RENOWNED Film and Television Writer, Director and Producer Ben Nomoyi was in Nelson Mandela Bay last week to celebrate his 40 years in the industry. A party to celebrate Port Elizabeth born Nomoyi, who is currently residing in East London, was held at the PE Opera House last Saturday. Arts and Culture MEC Xoliswa Tom and her delegation, Nelson Mandela Bay Portfolio Councillor Babalwa Lobishe and people that
Nomoyi has worked with throughout the years, were there to witness the love and affection given to this great son of the soil. Nomoyi, writer of films like uDeliwe, Inkedama and Cross Roads, was praised for his tireless work - the work he did with aplomb from the days of political segregation, economic oppression and social degradation. Speaking during a media briefing, Nomoyi said he was here to serve a notice to both the public and private sector to take the arts seriously as a tool for empowerment and economic development.
