Kathy and I raise beef for the consumer to enjoy, not cattle for show. We have always rail graded our finished cattle and rely heavy on EPDs. The Hatch family’s genetics have been a sound part of our crossbreeding program and has shown positive in our feedlot results. We have been through a few ups and downs in the cattle cycle and found that a solid crossbreeding program that gives us live calves that convert grass to beef and have the gut capacity to perform well in the feedlot will save us money at the end of the day. Until the consumer says they don’t like beef, I expect the Hatch’s bulls to be part of our herd.
