House vs. Travel

House play focuses on teaching fundamentals of the games. Our staff sets goals that instill self-confidence, dedication and teamwork. At this level, all players have equal playing time. Games are played at facilities within the Park District or Highland Park or nearby communities. Travel teams offer a competitive form of play for individuals who are able to play at the highest level of competition. Players must attend a try out and be selected to play on a team. This program keeps participants motivated by showcasing their talents against players from other communities. Games take place throughout the North Shore area.

Mutual Friendship Request

Mutual Friendship Requests are not available online and will only be allowed for the following programs: • Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Leagues for Grades 1-2 (Jammers) • Baseball Leagues for Grades Pre K-K (Single A) • Softball Leagues for Grades K-1 (Rookie) Only one mutual friendship request per person. Both players must have the Mutual Friendship Request Form completed correctly and turned in by the registration deadline in order to be considered. Siblings will automatically be placed on the same teams, unless otherwise requested. Other family members (e.g. cousins) must complete the Mutual Friendship Request Form. Mutual Friendship Request Forms can be found at www.pdhp.org/athletics or picked up at West Ridge Center, 636 Ridge Road, Highland Park, IL 60035. Please note: Due to the nature of the athletic programs, coach and carpool requests are not accepted.
