Firming, filling and tightening are the mainstay of rejuvenation and restoration of the skin. As we age, our skin loses its collagen and elasticity. Genetics play a role but prior exposure to the sun eventually takes its toll on the surface and deeper tissues. Fortunately, laser, light and injectable products can help restore years of damage from “fun in the sun.” Light-based treatments, such as photo rejuvenation, intense pulse light and radiofrequency devices, have been shown–when properly administered–to reduce pigmentation, increase tone and tighten the face, neck, chest, abdomen and extremities. IPL (photo rejuvenation), Thermage® (radiofrequency) and Fractional Resurfacing do work! BOTOX® and the newest FDA approved Dysport® are indicated for “frown lines.” The best use of the above listed procedures is where science and art come together.
