POWDER ROOMS WITH POWER

SMALL SPACES THAT PACK A BIG PUNCH

ypically tucked away in a quiet area of the home, the powder room (aka the guest bath or half bath), is often a chic little space. The small room—with no bath or shower—is not dampened by moisture concerns and is often windowless. The small square footage is a great place to showcase the expensive tile or wallpaper passed over for larger expanses. And it’s an ideal area to add a flourish of glitz or glam. Not surprisingly, the unassuming powder room is frequently a favorite for interior designers to style. We selected six local ones to share their initiatives with us.

LAYERED IN LUXURY Beasley & Henley Interior Design Befitting its penthouse location on the twenty-first floor of Altaira at The Colony Golf & Bay Club in Bonita Springs, this powder room epitomizes opulence. “The two-tone chevron flooring drove the design in this transitional modern space,” recalls Troy Beasley, principal designer and co-owner at Beasley & Henley Interior Design. Colors in the sumptuous half bath complement the adjacent room comprising the study, game room, and home theater. “When designing and styling a powder bath, this is where you break a few rules, blur the lines, and stretch out as needed style-wise,” Beasley explains. Finding Sanctuary by Lisa Kahn Designs Wallpaper named “Flight” by Phillip Jeffries, exuding softness and jubilance, was irresistible for founder and lead designer Lisa Kahn of Finding Sanctuary by Lisa Kahn Designs. Guided by her client’s love for the color blue, the bespoke vanity, embellished with a blue grass cloth on the cabinet insets, hosts a calcite countertop veined in indigo. “The sheer beauty of this powder bath is undeniably centered on the exquisite wallpaper,” relays Kahn. “More than mere decoration, it becomes a narrative, transporting visitors into a beautifully curated sanctuary. This design philosophy is rooted in the belief that such a room should be both functional and leave an indelible impression.” (lisakahndesigns.com) 72
