Nicoletta Belletti’s animal portraits will be on view at East West Fine Art April 2-16.
PET PROJECT It’s no secret that pets have a knack for becoming a part of the family—so much so that we often immortalize them on holiday cards and in portraiture. East West Fine Art at Mercato showcases whimsical works of animal art in a new special exhibit entitled “Grumpy Cat and Friends,” on display April 2-16. This collection of acrylic paintings by Italian artist Nicoletta Belletti depicts the more human side of these creatures, as captured through Belletti’s use of thick paint layers, bold monochromatic and ombré backgrounds, and intriguing facial expressions. Following the close of “Grumpy Cat and Friends,” East West Fine Art will present “Nothing but Magic: Contemporary Paintings by Alexander Oligerov,” April 16-30. (eastwestfineart.com)
