The tropical surroundings of this home are reflected in an array of interior decor choices, including coastal-colored organic materials and finishes. 90
ith its peaceful location beside a small private lake, where pink bougainvillea blossoms dot the landscape, this impressive Pelican Bay residence embraces its stunning tropical setting. “The natural surroundings dictated the home’s organic design direction,” explains Lisa Kahn, lead interior designer and founder of Finding Sanctuary by Lisa Kahn Designs. To bring the exterior inside, the designer chose coastalcolored organic materials and finishes. The great room’s board-and-batten paneling works as a functional design element, helping to lower the massive 20-foot ceiling to a more human scale. The color scheme for the room was created from the surroundings of the dwelling; neutral colors hint at nearby sand, dark hues reference the tree bark, and greens and blues reflect the water and sky.
