THE ATLANTIC’S NATURAL beauty is impressive enough, but its vastness becomes even more astonishing when seen through the soaring windows inside an apartment in the Seaglass residential tower in Jupiter Island. From up here, the glistening blue water and undulating white-capped waves take one’s breath away. The home’s sweeping panoramic views span from the shore and continue across a lush green park, culminating with the historic red-brick Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse on the Intracoastal Waterway.
“In all my years of designing interiors, I have never seen a more captivating view from inside an apartment,” says Lorraine Rogers-Bolton, principal of Rogers Design Group, who was charged with designing said apartment for a Midwestern couple. “We were given a grandiose, 6,213-square-foot space with virtually no architectural interest, so we set off to create interior architecture that considers every surface along with the interior design.”
R ogers-Bolton, Senior Designer Amanda Wyant Binns, and the rest of the design team collaborated with one of their trusted general contractors, Vintage Building and Design, to construct multilevel ceilings, unique recessed lighting, a custom fireplace, and perfectly engineered interior glass walls and doors. After various interviews with the clients, they chose a “comfortable-contemporary” aesthetic in cool ivory, silver-gray, and blue hues. In contrast, they unanimously agreed that walnut

An ivory upholstered Holly Hunt sofa and Troscan chairs can seat at least 10 guests in the massive living area, which captures the most breathtaking ocean views in the home. Lacquered ivory hexagonal tables pair with an upholstered ottoman, and carefully curated accessories, a hand-knotted silk and wool rug by Dale Chihuly for The Rug Company, elevate the space with color and texture.
would infuse warmth while accentuating the architectural details. Meticulously chosen performance fabrics offer softness as well as durability, and custom upholstery sourced from quality vendors accommodates the extra-deep seats required by this tall family.
“Our clients appreciated our warm, sculptural design style, so we custom-designed all the woodworking to infuse our signature look into their aesthetic,” notes the designer. “Our expert cabinetmakers created textured wood walls, artisan walnut and bronze built-ins, and even collaborated with the contractors to develop a vast three-dimensional fireplace/television wall made of stone and wood.”
A dramatic hallway clad in textured walnut cleverly camouflages a pair of utility doors. Amy Genser’s magnificent three-dimensional art piece counterbalances a buffet that sits adjacent to the dining room. A bronze sculpture by Thomas Osika strikes a shapely silhouette by the windows.
A n intriguing counterbalance of cool versus warm resonates throughout the apartment, beginning in the elevator foyer, where walnut panels flank a silver-gray upholstered suede wall inset. “The panels of mirror create an infinite space with no limits, along with a painting by Anne Raymond, which we curated for the space with JSO Art Associates,” adds Rogers-Bolton.

The living room’s expansive ocean view mesmerizes, yet on the opposite side, a massive fireplace wall fabricated in stone also catches the eye. Ivory seating pieces and lacquered surfaces float over a luxurious silk and wool rug while thoughtfully curated accessories and artwork punctuate with texture and color. delivers the embodiment of comfort along with cushioned ottomans and a plush custom rug that serves as underfoot art. A built-in wall unit fabricated in walnut cabinetry trimmed in bronze seamlessly houses the television and a mix of compelling sculptural accessories.
“By far the warmest and most intricate space, the den showcases a pair of perfectly bookmatched onyx pieces composing an unexpected focal point,” says Rogers-Bolton. “We chose light walnut to fabricate the individually lit bookshelves and a soffit, while recessed track lighting and an illuminated band of light emphasize the multi-level coffered ceiling.”

The bedroom’s illuminated smoked mirror panels deliver a soft reflection, capturing sea and sky views as well as the sinuous silhouettes of the furnishings. Polished nickel pendant lighting and shimmering accent pieces lend a silvery sheen, while the bathroom’s white Carrara marble and glossy lacquered cabinetry emanate spa-like elegance.
“Our clients have expressed they thoroughly enjoy the beauty of their apartment and are ecstatic about the comfort we were able to provide them,” notes Rogers-Bolton. “Their trust in us is reflected in every aspect of this project and revealed our best results.”

Fun in the Sun
COMPLETE WITH A SWIM-UP BAR, A LAZY RIVER, A PUTTING GREEN, AND AMPLE SQUARE FOOTAGE FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, A RESORT-LIKE COMPOUND IN GRASSY KEY BECOMES THE IDEAL VACATION RETREAT
WHEN A BOCA RATON-BASED executive began planning to purchase a weekend retreat, he envisioned a place to serve as a true getaway for himself and his partner, along with his adult children and their growing families. He had fond memories of visiting the Florida Keys as a child and enjoying fishing and diving in the area, so when a site became available on Grassy Key near Mile Marker 57, he didn’t hesitate in acquiring it.
“I was already quite familiar with Marathon and the sense of nostalgia around this particular area, which is rather special,” he says. “From the moment I pulled up to the property, I was taken by the long stretch of calm water and the privacy.”
While a 1950s-era house existed on the site, it was outdated and not in line with the homeowner’s vision, so he chose to demolish it and start anew. To handle the complete build and design of a new estate, he called on D’Asign Source, a full-service firm that operates out of Marathon. What resulted from that initial call is a massive tropical retreat that serves as a frequent gathering place for family and friends.
The team behind the project, which took several years to complete, included interior designer Destin Barkley and architects Matthew Prince and Leighton Campbell. Through many site visits and discussions with the homeowner, they arrived on the concept of creating a compound, rather than a singular home. “Focusing on a transitional coastal modern aesthetic, the compound was designed to make several separate buildings feel like one large house through the use of connected walkways and covered patios,” says Prince, who, along with Barkley, envisioned a main home comprised of three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and one half-bathroom, along with a two-bedroom and two-bathroom guesthouse with a kitchen, and a duo of guest cottages that each include two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Overall, there are 9,760 square feet of air-conditioned space, and that doesn’t account for the seemingly endless number of outdoor areas. In its entirety, the property has a footprint of 23,913 square feet.
A s outdoor activities are at the heart of life in the Florida Keys, it was imperative that the transition from inside the home and the accompanying guest suites to the outdoors was seamless. “The natural appeal of the surrounding environment was my main

inspiration when it came to the interior design,” says Barkley. “It influenced everything from the color palette of layered blues to the organic textures and rich wood tones.”
Woven throughout the outdoor spaces is a landscape of lush vegetation, further enhancing the utopian vibe. With a combination of native greenery, salt- and wind-tolerant plants, and artificial turf, the team was able to add visual interest while scaling down the ample square footage, creating a more intimate and inviting atmosphere around the backyard and pool area.
When a break from the sun is necessary, retreating to the game room and bar is ideal. In orchestrating this domain, Barkley endeavored to conjure a space that would make an elegant statement yet be casual enough for hanging after swimming. “I went with rich blue tones that mimic the deep ocean waters,” says the designer, who also sourced coastal-inspired game tables to further complement the space.
According to Prince, the property remains a memorable project to him because of the homeowner’s involvement and earnest attention to detail. “We enjoy working with clients who truly participate in the process and have a hand in the design integrity,” he says. “The beauty of this endeavor was that we were able to create some stunning interior and exterior spaces while still maintaining that flip-flop appeal that is so much a part of the Florida Keys lifestyle.”

LAKEWOOD RANCH, A MASTER-PLANNED community near Sarasota and Bradenton, is ideal for homeowners who want large estates located within driving distance to city-centric culture, dining, and shopping. And that’s exactly what a couple was looking for when they purchased a 4,000-square-foot house built by Stock Luxury Homes and designed by Lisa Guild of LMG Design Consulting.
Together with two of her associates, Casey O’Brien and Amanda Bugar, and in collaboration with Stock’s Pizzazz Interiors, Guild set out to deliver an au courant four-bedroom home meant to be shared with family and friends.
First up: color. “We decided on a neutral palette that juxtaposes the masculine with the feminine,” says Guild. “This helped us come up with a design strategy in which furnishings and finishes at eye level or lower were kept subdued and then get more decorative the higher they go.”
Case in point: the flooring. The white porcelain tile used throughout the home goes easy on the veining and proved to be a low-maintenance option for a home that

frequently hosts large and small gatherings. Neutral (from charcoal to dove white) was the way to go with the rest of the furnishings, while accents turn up the volume on color with oversized abstract artwork on the walls, and golden accessories in the form of chandeliers, mirrors, pendants, and frames. “Nothing is too bright, garish, or in any way overwhelming,” says O’Brien, LMG’s resident digital 3D modeling expert.
Because the home’s floor plan is open, the designers employed paint to help anchor and delineate the different spaces. As such, an accent wall in taupe defines the dining room. “It’s a beautiful tone that has an undercurrent of pink,” says Guild. “It’s one of those colors that everyone looks better in.” The shade also lends an air of femininity to the dining space, which houses an oval white lacquer table surrounded by chairs upholstered in brown velvet.
As gender vibes go, the living room leans into the masculine with sculptural lounge chairs and a reeded ebony console table. The dark-and-light approach to tones continues in the kitchen with all-white cabinetry, light gray stone surfaces, and gold detailing. The same is true of the bedrooms, which Guild says she approached with five-star resorts in mind. “When you have a home in Florida, people will come

Outside in the patio area, the neutrals that define the indoor spaces also work effortlessly here. “We wanted a connection between interior and exterior both in tone and in vibe,” says Guild, referencing the area’s dark sculptural elements, stone lanai floor, and black and gray furniture.
“Our overall approach with this home was to carve out individual spaces and infuse them with personality,” says Guild. “It’s not just about selecting pretty things. Our goal is always to ensure that what we are providing is comfortable and long-lasting, and that we are showcasing each space in the most positive and aesthetically pleasing way.”

Ale Meskita was born in Brazil to a family of artists. At 15, she began painting, weaving, and working with textiles, and in 2010, started the fashion line MESKITA in New York, attaining success in department stores worldwide. She finds her artistic inspiration in the creation of textiles and the structured movements of her embroidered fashion designs.
In 2016, Meskita married her art aesthetic to tailored craftsmanship, creating artwork for her Miami living room. She intricately entwined acrylic-painted canvas with colored cords and yarns. Meskita wanted to create art that could be touched and retain its form; however, she also wanted to create something that changes shape and hue when admired from different angles, becoming a completely different art piece based on one’s reference point. Through weaving, and painting, she portrays a dance of movement onto her walls, incorporating a kinetic effect and kaleidoscope of color, pattern, and texture.
Meskita’s work quickly gained recognition, transforming her career into that of an artist’s. She resides between Palm Beach and Miami, working with luxury interior designers and prominent art collectors.
