Skip Quillen’s Pazzo! Cucina Itali ana opened in 1995 on the avenue. It was followed by Yabba Island Grill 22 years ago, Chops City Grill in Naples and Bonita Springs, and The Saloon—all under the umbrella of Quillen’s Culinary Concepts. Buoyed by their success, hard-working entre preneurs have also expanded, such as chef Vincenzo Betulia, co-found er of Campagna Hospitality Group, comprised of Osteria Tulia, Bar Tu lia, The French Brasserie Rustique, and a recent expansion with Bar Tu lia Mercato in North Naples. “When I first visited Naples on holiday, I fell in love with old Naples. We turned onto 5th Avenue South from U.S. 41, and I was starstruck by the beau ty of the avenue,” Betulia recalls. “I saw 5th Avenue as the crown jewel

As The Naples Players launches its 69th season of en riching Naples with premier, award-winning community theater, Bryce Alexander, executive artistic director, is plan ning a $15 million expansion and renovation of Sugden Community Theatre. The eight-month project will include adding 150 balcony seats to Blackburn Hall, a full renova tion of the black box Tobye Studio, and a new theater de signed specifically for education. “It’s a massive overhaul,” says Alexander. The more than 340 Club members work all year to provide scholarships for promising students, grants for social service agencies, and hands-on volunteer support for those in need.

• OCTOBER 22: Fall Flea Market, 9 AM to 2 PM. Bargains for everyone, free admission.

• NOVEMBER 4-5: Artisan Marketplace, 10 AM to 4PM, 18+ artisans presenting unique works for sale. Also featuring the “Color My World” silent auction, including works of art “inspired by color” to support college scholarships for the Arts. Free admission.

• NOVEMBER 4: Artisan Cocktail Party, 5:30 to 7:30 PM, featuring private access to the marketplace and auction, plus appetizers and drinks by Chef Vincenzo Betulia. Tickets available at www.napleswomansclub.org.
