Paul VanDeCarr - NYC postcards

Page 1

Greetings from New York City. When the pandemic hit, I was living three blocks from a major hospital in Queens, at what became the epicenter of the epicenter. To get a break from the sirens and the anxiety, I started riding my bike around New York City. My original goal was to ride across every NYC bridge over water, at least the ones that had a foot or bike path. In the process of meeting that goal, I started training my eye—and my cell-phone camera—on other things that interested me. Over the next nearly two years, those snapshots gradually accumulated into several photo series. Here are selections from each of those series. Thanks for taking a gander! Paul VanDeCarr 2022
