INSTRUMENTS IN THE REDEEMER’S HANDS

LESSON 3

Understanding Your Heart Struggle DISCUSS HOMEWORK 

Leader, it is important to start each lesson with a brief discussion of the Make It Real section from the previous lesson. Choose one or two questions for discussion, allowing participants to share what they learned. For Make It Real lesson 2, ask if any of the participants are willing to share what they learned from questions 1 or 2. Then have the group share their definitions for question 4. Finally, end by giving your definition.

REVIEW 

Refer participants to the At a Glance diagram at the end of the book. Briefly review lesson 2. Explain that you are now going to lead them in a deeper examination of the struggle that goes on in their hearts. Ask them if they ever wondered why different people get angry over different things. Have they ever wondered why different things discourage different people, or why there is so much conflict in each of our lives? When you understand what the Bible says about the war for our hearts, you can begin answering these questions. This is what we will focus on in this session.
