Exhibition City is a 30 million SF Convention Center, Auto Exhibition, Arena, and Hospitality project I was instrumental in bringing in to the Las Vegas Office in 2006 through my relationships with executives at the World Market Center. As Project Director, I managed a 12‐ person cross‐functional team to master plan 220 acres of land south of Mandalay Bay Resort on the Las Vegas Strip. Project challenges included adjacent parcel acquisition, Entitlements and related scheduling, and new power and water infrastructure. The project’s financing, through Lehman Brothers, was an unfortunate casualty of the economic downturn and thus the project was never realized. g g y p j

CityCenter is a 16,000,000 SF, $8 billion, multi‐use resort and casino. I worked on this project from its inception through completion, and during those six years I played several roles. During the initial stages of the project, I served as Executive Architect, by managing and h l l l h l f h h b providing design oversight for four separate, major components of the project. The first major effort was to relocate 67 acres of surface parking to a structured parking garage. The Bellagio Employee Garage, a 10‐story, 5000 car garage, was the first structure completed in the project. My second role was Project Manager of the Vdara Hotel & Spa Podium. I worked with BBG‐BBGM, Raphael Vinoly, and Leo A Daly Architects to realize this non‐smoking, LEED Gold Project. To provide vehicular access to Vdara , the BEG, and the west side of the Aria Hotel, I also managed the extremely complex, circular, two‐level roadway called Harmon Circle, which included art installations by Jenny Holzer and Nancy Rubens. My final role on CityCenter was managing the design and construction completion of 200 luxury residences in the Mandarin Oriental.

The new Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport 13‐gate concourse, was completed in 2010. As a Job Captain (prior to licensure,) my responsibilities included technical design development, the production of construction documents, and authoring a 250‐page LEED‐ required, Basis of Design report that documented our design process and the design criteria for the project. This complex project required addressing the client’s desire for compelling, inspiring architecture while meeting the technical needs of a new concourse. Specific project challenges included a vertically sloping site—several feet over the entire length—and making connections to adjacent existing buildings challenges included a vertically sloping site—several feet over the entire length—and making connections to adjacent existing buildings. Following completion, this LEED silver building was also awarded a prestigious Gensler Design Excellence Award

The Shakespeare Theater is a renovation of a 1960’s building located on the North end of the Las Vegas Strip. The project is presently in the fund raising phase, and during this process we provided pro bono concept design services for this 399 seat LORT (League of Resident Theaters) theater. Our involvement in this project was the direct result of Gensler’s high performance on a law firm project, Kolesar & Leatham—a project I personally brought into the firm and managed through completion. As Project Manager, I directed the concept design phase of this “medium size” project (budget is $36,000,000.) In my opinion, an ideal project in terms of both size and program. p p j ( g $ , , ) y p , p j p g This project is currently scheduled to be LEED Certified.

This confidential renovation of an existing facility on the Las Vegas Strip is designed by Philippe Starck and consists of 65,000 SF of Gaming, 60,000 SF of Food and Beverage, and a total of 192,000 SF of Front of House space and 179,000 SF of BOH space. It has roughly 1600 keys in three towers. As Zone Leader and Project Architect, I lead the efforts for the podium Core & Shell and the three Towers of the project. My responsibilities included leading of team of four people to complete the design development and produce the construction documents for permit. Specific project challenges included limited interaction with the lead designers (Starck) and a number of unknowns related to a facility that was built in the 1960’s. This exciting project is scheduled to begin construction in 2013, and while not currently scheduled for LEED tifi ti LEED certification, it is sustainable by virtue of its reuse of the existing structures and rigorous recycling and liquidation of internal it i t i bl b i t f it f th i ti t t d i li d li id ti fi t l components.

Profile: With 15 years of experience on a diverse array of projects, I keep Design, Sustainability, and Collaboration at the forefront of my approach. I thrive on innovative, technically challenging, complex projects. As a project manager, I seek to "make space" for the design process by managing budget and fees with aesthetics in mind; however, I understand how to keep project aspirations grounded in reality, and how to balance client expectations along the way. As a project architect, I seek to provide exemplary attention to detail combined with extensive technical and code knowledge, follow through, and responsiveness. Without preference for or differentiation between interiors or exterior design, I make every effort to ensure all projects are sustainable, inspirational to the community, and specifically tailored to the needs of the people who use them.
