The Experiment ZR012 by C3H5N309 Cost: $110,000

The ZR012 is made with a zirconium case and titanium lugs. The bracelet strap on the watch is made of dark brown leather. All the materials are of the highest grade. The metals are highly resistant to corrosion and as a result the build can withstand even the heaviest of use. On the clock face two movie Releaux Polygons indicate the time. Colored red the indicators are arranged in a pyramid like fashion spotlight with hours on the lowest level and minutes on top. The design is unorthodox but that’s what makes the watch so unique. A very handy feature on the ZR012 is the power reserve indicator on the back of the watch. The mechanisms in the watch have an autonomy of 39 hours, when the indicator reaches the read bar, then it’s time to wind the watch back up again. Although unusual in design and construction the ZR012 will truly go down as one of the world’s most intricately engineered watches. MB&F and Urwerk will release 12 in the line this year in a rose-gold case.

12 God of War: Ascension, takes place right before the events of God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War, it’s been 6 months since Kratos murdered his wife and child due to Ares’ trickery. Having sworn off his oath to the God of War and refusing to fight for him or do his bidding any longer, the three great Furies, Goddesses of Punishment, Justice and Torment have been sent by Hades to capture Kratos and imprison him in a Titan-sized prison for the living damned, where he is tortured for months on end, driven insane, and constantly haunted by the visions of the night he lost everything dear to him. Fueled by a desire and lust for revenge against Ares, along with a need to redeem himself among the other Gods to earn salvation, Kratos manages to break free of his imprisonment and sets out on a journey to murder the Furies. If he can successfully murder them he can sever all ties to Ares without consequence. Throughout this journey Kratos will battle famous mythical beasts and icons of ancient Greece, as well as his own plunge into madness as he fights his constant nightmares, further testing his humanity and his determination for salvation and redemption.

HTC ONE X+ The original One X’s battery was one of its weakest points. Fortunately, the One X+ has a new 2100mAh battery, putting it on par with the S III. The CPU is unchanged from the One X, but it has been beefed up a bit, running on each of its four cores at 1.7GHz rathar than it’s original 1.5GHZ. Running Androids latest OS Jelly Bean, the interface is faster and smoother. The One X+ is an impressive update that addresses most of the One X’s largest issues.

03 Panasonic TX-P50VT50 Cost: $1699.95 It’s hard to believe Panasonic could better their other plasma TVs, but that’s exactly what the TXP50VT50 does - and then some! One of the unique features on the VT50 range is an Infinite Black Ultra filter, which aims to deliver better than ever black levels. On the outside, the VT50 has a single-sheet-of-glass-design, and there are minor differences in the styling compared with the GT model. Offering four HDMIs, three USBs (one of which can be used for timeshifting to an external hard drive), component, composite, Scart and Ethernet, there’s not much missing on the back. Wi-Fi is resident, as is Bluetooth. The latter can be used both with a secondary stubby, touchpad controller (supplied), or a keyboard, to better navigate the HTML browser. There’s also an SD card reader and CI slot. The layout of the menu system and interface is the same as the rest of the Panasonic range and remains one of the simplest and most intuitive around. The Panasonic TX-P50VT50 is by any measure a worthy televison to head Panasonic’s plasma range, and it’s one we highly recommend.

How To Get The Perfect Office Look For:

SPRING/SUMMER

By: Charlotte Bleasdale

There’s a fine line to tread on putting together the perfect office look, and it’s even more difficult in the warmer seasons! A smart suit and tights can be far too stuffy and constrictive in warmer weather but you can’t wear your shorts and vest tops in the office. This guide will help you keep cool, calm and stylish, even on the warmest of days! We’ll give you some great tips on everything from fashion and footwear to hair and make up to help you go from dowdy to delicious whilst still appearing professional!

CLOTHES

A bit of a balancing act is required when it comes to dressing comfortably for the office in hot weather. A lot of this act depends on how formal you’re required to look. If you can bend the rules on office wear then an a-line skirt and blouse is always a good spring/summer style. Alternatively a linen dress is the perfect choice for a summer work look. If you want to add a bit of spring fashion then pair your office look with floral prints, frilled blouses and earthy tones. If you have back-to-back meetings all day and a suit is required, again linen is an excellent choice. It’s breathable, smart and still looks summery. If a suit is slightly smarter than you need, but you can’t get away with a summer dress then some light summer trousers with a shirt or smart blouse could be ideal. Try different shades of linen until you find your perfect pair.

SHOES

When it comes to choosing smart summer shoes, it isn’t always that easy. Sandals are almost always too casual for office wear, whilst many smarter shoes can have your feet feeling uncomfortable and sweaty. The best way to get happy feet is to make sure your shoes fit well and that they’re breathable. Steer clear of constrictive styles and try a pair of wide fitting shoes. The slightly wider style of the shoe will allow air to circulate more freely. The perfect choice is of course a sandal if it’s office appropriate. Another option is to wear a peep toe shoe. These will allow air to circulate. Flat peep toes are a perfect choice for spring/ summer; they too let your feet breathe and are smart enough for most office environments.

12 _Celebritynights.com_April-June

JEWELRY

Jewelry can be the perfect way to add a little spring/summer style to any conservative office outfit. Freshen up that tired blouse and trousers combo with a tribal style necklace or some brightly colored beads. Creating personality in office wear can be tricky at the best of times, so adding a small splash of color is a great way to stand out from the crowd. Avoid anything too big for fear of looking unprofessional, but a discreet on trend necklace or bracelet is the perfect way to breathe some life into dowdy office attire. Stud earrings are always recommended for in the office. Dangly styles tend to look either too casual or too dressy depending on the pair in question.

MAKE UP

Office friendly make up really comes into it’s own in the warmer months. No one wants to be caked in foundation on warm summer days. In fact the natural bronzing that comes with warm weather means that the fresh-faced look (that’s always best for in the office) is the perfect style whatever you’re up to. Apply a thin layer of foundation or tinted moisturizer, topping up with concealer where required. Then just add a slick of brown mascara and some lip balm office ready in 5! So remember that dressing up for work in a way defines your character and personality. People take you more seriously if you are well dressed and groomed. Follow these guides and you will be on your way to looking good and staying cool in hot weather seasons.

Holiday Laser Light Show by Jennifer M-Delgado

Urban-15’s, a San Antonio based non-profit made up of 15 artists, Holiday Laser Light Show, ran from December 6, through December 8, 2012. This was a festive display of lasers and was anything but ordinary. An annual holiday infused, choreographed laser show was a family friendly event which kept everyone of all ages entertained. The artists created a show to engage the audience and incorporated several sing-a-longs such as “Feliz Navidad” and “I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.” The 45 minute laser array kept eyes glued to the screen, for you did not want to miss the next display. Included as a special extra, an additional 15 minutes of laser was added. This was experimental work the laser artists had worked on for several years, and what a treat it was. Overall, this was a great modern event that included an immense amount of technique and skill to create the extensive visual show. The lively event set the right mood to move people into the holiday season. Hat’s off to Urban-15. You can view more pictures of this spectacular show at

Coppini Academy of Fine Arts

by Jennifer M-Delgado

Local San Antonio Artist, Sean Anthony Knoll’s paintings were selected to be shown in the faculty exhibit at the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts. His three paintings featured landscapes of Italy, which Knoll tries to visit at least once a year. Knoll prefers a medium of watercolors. “It’s a bit less restricting; watercolors tend to do what it wants which gives it a life of its own. This is what captivates me about this medium,” explained Knoll. After seeing his paintings, I too am captivated by the way watercolors can be manipulated. Knoll’s paintings are quite different from what I remember my classmates and I painting in elementary. Knoll favors painting landscapes, due to his previous major of architecture in college. In conjunction to painting, Knoll teaches a life drawing class and is Chief of Staff at the Coppini. The Coppini Academy was built by Pompeo Coppini when San Antonio’s population neared 50,000. Pompeo Coppini is known as a local sculpture artist and built the Coppini as his studio. When the building was still new, Coppini

would welcome visitors every Sunday to see his work. Some of his most famous sculptures can still be seen today; they include, Alamo Cenotaph, “The Spirit of Sacrifice” at Alamo Plaza, “Atom” allegorical figure at the Institute of Texan Culture and George Brackenridge a statue at the entrance of Brackenridge Park and Broadway. Now the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts holds class every day of the week except Sunday. The Coppini Academy has events such as the faculty show once a year. Also included is a Fall Show every October, in November the Academy showcases its Great and Small Exhibition, which features the members and gives them a chance to win prizes and in the Spring is the Garden Exhibition, which highlights sculpture. “In 2014 we will have a few big shows; you can plan on seeing artists from Europe,” said Knoll.”

Pasha Mediterranean Grill 9339 Wurzbach Rd. | San Antonio, TX 78240 | 210.561.5858 by Jennifer M-Delgado

I sat down and was immediately greeted with a medium pizza sized, pita bread. Warm, fresh and delicious it was. Along with the pita came olive oil and basil dipping sauce, what a way to start a meal.

Pasha, located on Wurzbach had an atmosphere which was welcoming and warm, the service was polite and tended to all my needs. A busy Friday night, the food arrived in a timely manner and was fresh. I had a pleasant dining experience and would absolutely go back, even if it was just for the pita bread.

Not realizing hummus came with most of the main dishes, I ordered this as a starter to go with my fresh pita bread. A nice touch, given I hadn’t had it in a while. As I continue to munch on my pita bread deciding what I am going to eat, the generous waitress topped my drink and politely asked for my selection. Everything on Pasha Mediterranean Grill’s menu looked so good, finally I decided on the Ghormeh Sabzi “Stew.” I was going for something a little more traditional, different and that it was. Brought to me in a large bowl, along with it a huge fluffy plate of basmati rice; which made me a bit intimidated. The dark green color and thick look had me thrown for a minute. I dived right in though not thinking twice, after all I love stew. The meat was tender and tasteful. Each piece melted in my mouth as I chewed. Every bite covered in parsley, cilantro and green onion infused sauce. In addition, Persian spices and dark red kidney beans added additional flavor. Bringing the pita back into play, I made mini tacos with the stew, rice and pita. Overall, the meal was very filling, and had a unique taste.

San Antonio, Texas, cutting edge in fashion and design? San Antonio, first for classic, classy, made in America clothing? Mario Guajardo and Teal Thompson, couple and founders of The Richter Co. believe San Antonio is the perfect market for this to happen and are taking the first steps for this dream to become a reality. Setting up shop in downtown San Antonio, at 616 Broadway, this team is off to a great start. Guajardo and Thomson successfully launched a kickstarter project June of 2012. Their goal was to raise $15,000 in funding by July 29, 2012 and they did. In return, Guajardo and Thompson were able to complete the line of the Richter Co. 2012 Casual Americana Collection which included, unisex infinity scarves, women and men’s t-shirts and men’s modern fit button downs. With the funding from the Kickstarter Program they were also able to buy industrial sewing machines and hire seamstresses in connection with Fuerza Unida, a group of women seamstresses who were laid off when Levy left San Antonio in 1990, to complete the orders which came in through the project. “To live your dream and to live it right, you have to be committed and you have to be bold,” stated Guajardo. Guajardo grew up in Mexico with a father who was a well known lawyer. “I remember he would always take a few extra minutes to get ready for his clients. His clothes were always neat and clean. He taught me first impressions were lasting impressions and this has stayed with me my entire life,” shared Guajardo.

This memory led him to where he is now. After getting his business degree, Guajardo choose a career in fashion. He ended up working for Lacrosse and managing stores in San Antonio, this is when he fell in love with the city. “I fell in love with San Antonio because it is one of the largest cities in the county. San Antonio is young and vibrant, and it is right in the middle of its revitalization and growth project, in which we are big supporters of,” explained Guajardo. Guajardo eventually ended up with the opportunity to travel to New York, Los Angeles and Paris several times a year and even meet many big named designers, which gave him the inspiration to branch out on his own.

said when they walk inside the boutique, it’s like they have walked into New York or Paris,” shared Guajardo. “Teal and I put a lot of work into this building, it took about an additional year and a half for us to complete this refurbishment project,” said Guajardo.

When Guajardo and Thompson decided to finalize the plan, the move to San Antonio made sense. After a year and a half search for the perfect location, it was finally found on Broadway. The name of the Richter Co. was motivated by the building’s original name. The inside of the building was restored and renovated using original materials from what was left behind from the previous clothing manufacturing company. “Visitors have

Currently, the Richter Co. is open for business by appointment only. Guajardo handles more of the business and creative side and Thompson manages the PR and Marketing side due to her extensive background in Production; organizing events such as Austin City Limits and working with the global branding of the Live Strong campaign for Lance Armstrong. Guajardo and Thompson also rent out their space for events and private parties. Art From the Streets

Paul

by Jennifer M-Delgado

Artists, photographers and jewelry makers have created pretty things for years because they love what they do, some say they have a passion or calling for it. Others such as the artists who participated in the Art From the Streets Show and Sale create for an escape, for hope and for peace of mind. They make art to bring joy and happiness into their life and leave the hardships they face, even if it’s only for an hour or two. For 20 years hundreds of artists including painters, photographers and jewelry makers have joined together to sell the work they’ve created throughout the year. At the 2012 show, buyers had over 2,000 pieces of work to choose from. Beautiful artwork of African scenes, mountaintops, photos of the night sky surrounded the art shoppers as they searched for the perfect new masterpiece for their home. Prices started at $35, reasonable enough for people to walk out with many works of art. Each artist who participated, humble, joyous and hopeful, all the misery and unhappiness, which could come with their life situation, was left at the door. All there to be recognized as an artist and to represent their art, willing to tell about each piece, if asked. Inclusive, this was a brilliant way to give back hope and enlighten the less fortunate. The artists, “from the streets” are able to look forward to a great event each year. People who normally don’t interact with the homeless are able to see what great people they really are and can lend their helping hand by buying a piece of their art work; it’s a win, win for everyone.

Oakenfold by Jennifer M-Delgado

Paul Oakenfold, a DJ who has accomplished world domination, in music that is. With a career that starts out with a life changing event in Ibiza during the late 1980’s this guy still has what it takes to fill a room full of diehard fans and get them moving. Three time Grammy nominated, and winner of “Best DJ in the World,” by DJ Magazine, Oakenfold has worked with some of the largest names in music such as Madonna, U2, Snoop Dogg, The Rolling Stones, Smashing Pumpkins and Bjork. He has played on the great wall of China and at the Hollywood Bowl in California for over 30,000 people. Oakenfold owns his own record label Planet Perfecto which is thriving in the music world today. With all of this success he still takes the time to play for a crowd of a few hundred fans. On tour with Madonna, Oakenfold graciously accepted an invite from Realmusic Events, Kingdom Productions and VSE for a detour to Austin, Texas. There Oakenfold played a live set at Emo’s. Filled with fans, Okenfold played

an electrifying two hour set. Devoted “Oakie” followers danced as if the end was near and this was the last night of their lives. Hands filled the air as the beats pulsated through the intimate venue, a community of new comers and experienced Electronic Dance Music fans couldn’t get enough of Oakenfold. Smoke blasted and confetti rained over the crowd, which added a serotonin rush of happiness to the room. For the grand finally, not only an awesome music experience, but Oakenfold, came down from stage and greeted his fans. He signed autographs, took pictures and gave warm hugs to his dedicated enthusiasts. What a great way to end the night. Along with Oakenfold, opening DJs were Jon Plechaty, Andrew Parsons, owner of RealMusic Events which brings the best dance music from around the world to Texas, Remmington Steele and Chad Koss.

Happy New Years ATX by Jennifer M-Delgado Despite the rare cold, Texas temperatures and the rain, Austinites continued the annual tradition of the 6th street block party on New Years Eve 2012. The crowd only slightly smaller than previous years partied just as hard. As the count down to 2013 came into play, bottles of Champaign with sparklers attached, lit the room of Old School Bar and Grill with a magnificent shower of sparks. “Ten, nine, eight”, camera flashes took over the scene, snapping pictures of a night most won’t remember, “three, two, one!” Bottles of Champaign emptied everywhere; people yelled and cheered of excitement, couples kissed, all for about two minutes. Then the music was blasted and the dance party began. On the street a river streamed with an animated crowd; all there to celebrate. No one seemed bothered by the sudden on and off showers that fell from the sky. The words, “Happy New Years” were yelled at random throughout 6th street. Excited people ran in and out of the crowd, going who knows where. Austin my favorite place to be for New Years.

AUSTIN

Sushi Express by Jennifer M-Delgado

Immediately after walking through the doors of Sushi Express, warm smiles greet this hungry guest. I am surrounded by a welcoming atmosphere, seated and given a brief moment to absorb the walls adorned with traditional Asian dÊcor. With my stomach growling, I gaze at the appetizer menu. Listed are customary Asian dishes such as Tang Su Yuk, (Korean version of sweet and sour beef) Haemul Pajeon, (seafood and scallion pancake) and Gyoza (Japanese Pot Stickers). As my hunger became a bit uncomfortable, the Gyoza became the choice. With the first bite, Sushi Express became my new go to place for Gyoza. The freshest Pot Stickers ever; they were lightly fried, but not over cooked. Surprisingly, they did not have a spot of sogginess as most do. A faultless amount of seasoning and pork, and again, everything tasted remarkably fresh. After finishing off this dish, I had high expectations for the sushi. Brought out was the SUMO Express Roll, Black Dragon and a Salmon Hand roll. The SUMO included mixed snow crab, tempura shrimp and avocado inside; the outside was topped with fresh salmon and tobiko. As the roll did not exceed expectations, it was of good quality and filling. The Black Dragon roll was filled with snow crab, avocado, cucumber and topped with grilled eel, fresh eel sauce and sesame seeds. Overall the roll had an enjoyable smoky flavor. As for the Spicy Salmon hand roll, ironically the salmon tasted slightly fresher than on the SUMO roll. The spicy mayo’s heat peaked through with each bite, not dominating the taste. The avocado slices were generous and created a pleasant creamy texture to the roll. The seaweed wrapping was of good consistency, which made for easy eating. When consuming sushi it feels like a lighter dish to indulge in, so dessert seems a bit less guiltless. Pondering on the dessert choices of green tea ice cream, red bean ice cream and Banana Tempura, I finally decided on the Banana Tempura. Not mentioned on the menu, the Banana Tempura came delightfully jazzed up with chocolate and strawberry syrup. This is a must have dessert. The warm, sweet bananas with the cool smooth ice cream was an amazing way to end a meal.

CHRISTINA SALAZAR

Houston Artist / Former Tecate Model

by Jennifer M. Delgado

J

ust about every day we interact with people; make new connections, friends and maybe even fall in love, but it’s rare that you come across someone who truly inspires you. Someone whose passion screams at you, ripping into your heart, making you question if you are on the right path in life, if you are meant for something bigger.

she felt as if she didn’t belong. “I felt like I was meant for something bigger. I was so creative and had so much energy,” shared Salazar.

“I’ve come too far to stop now; I am never going to stop making art,” stated Christina Salazar local artist and former Tecate Spokes Model.

Salazar finally ended up taking a painting class after having a dream. “One night I had this crazy dream of a guy riding a motorcycle. He rode past me, stopped, turned around, got off his bike, lifted his shield on his helmet and said, ‘one day your talents will make you famous.’ When I woke up I was really confused. I wondered if I knew the guy or what,” exclaimed Salazar.

At the age of four, Salazar knew she wanted to be an artist. Growing up she taught herself how to draw, but ended up excelling in music during her school years. When it came time for college, her heart pulled towards art, but her parents pushed her towards the medical field. Choosing the stable path, Salazar ended up attending school for radiology. When there

After this she knew what she was meant to do. When in her painting class she felt like she was exactly where she needed to be. “Little by little I would get excited and slowly I became competitive with myself. Then I entered an art contest. I was so happy just to be in it, I wasn’t expecting anything. To my surprise I won the whole show,” affirmed Salazar. April-June_Celebritynights.com_ 37

38 _Celebritynights.com_April-June

Living it up in South Padre Island, as well as making a name for herself, with her art and modeling, Salazar needed a change of pace. “I needed to know what else was out there for me, who my competition was. I questioned what other inspirations could I find to put into my art? This is when my sister convinced me to move to Houston, revealed Salazar.

It was hard leaving my family, but I went, with no money, and knew I had to do whatever it took to survive.

Getting by on modeling side jobs, not knowing if she was going to eat “steak or Ramen noodles” Salazar came across an opening for a Tecate Spokes model. “On a whim” she decided she had nothing to lose and went for the $20,000 contract. Determined to succeed, Salazar ended up knocking out the competition, winning a one-year contract with Tecate Light. “This was an amazing opportunity. It gave me the opportunity to go to New York, and around the United States. I was able to visit many art museums, allowing me to see my competition. It helped me financially, I was able to buy canvases and continue to paint, explained Salazar. Just recently, Salazar’s contract with Tecate ended. Overall, she gained many friends, a large following and an amazing experience. Now, Salazar is seeking to transform into her lifelong mission of an artist. She is breaking out of the model mold and shining in her talents with paints on canvas, something that has always been there, but did not surface until recently. Currently Salazar shows and sells her works in the local Houston area. She hopes to one day move to New York and make a name as big as her heroes Picasso and as well as have her work hang side by side them. With passion and ambition driving her, there is no doubt glory and fame will surround her as her heart desires.

BOBBY SCHANDRA D A L L A S

Zebra Swarovski Crystal iPhone 4 case,

Classic Swarovski Crystal Silver Swarovski Crystal Watches,

“I’ve always had an eye for fashion, but my career was in the medical field. Then one day my parents asked me to design accessories for them and I happened to be good at it. I fell in love with the designing aspect, but got bored with the limitations of basic metals. They owned a diamond business; there is only so much you can do,” explained Bobby Schandra, designer and owner of Bobby Schandra bags and accessories. This new found love for designing turned into a desire to branch out on his own. Schandra decided to venture out into the world of women’s bags and accessories. Shipping $20,000 worth of merchandise to a temporary address seems like a crazy idea, even if it was for a chance to get a deal the popular HBO show Entourage. Luckily, Schandra is just crazy enough to do this, and then think about the risk involved. Fortunately, everything worked out in his favor. The hit series Entourage, received Schandra’s items and loved them, so much so that they featured them on the show every season. “Entourage has always been my favorite show and I thought it would be amazing if I could have the opportunity to have my bags and accessories on it. After I overnighted my stuff to the temporary address I wondered, ‘how will I ever know if they got my package?’ Eventually, I started getting text messages and soon enough my bags accessories appeared on the show. We have had a great relationship since, they are such great people to work with,” shared Schandra. After Schandra built his relationship with Entourage, he soon heard of HBO’s other hit series the Vampire Diaries. Being the audacious person he is, he reached out to them. As it turns out they already knew who he was thanks to his work with Entourage. “I was thrilled to find out they knew of me. They loved my line and wanted to use the bags and accessories for their show, this was exciting.”

White best friend link watch Acrylic and Jelly Bling Watches,

Landing such great deals could really boost the ego of most people, but not Schandra’s. “After reaching this point in my designing career I started to get invited to parties and people recognized me more often. I found out real quick this industry attracts a lot of snobby and pretentious people, this is not me; I’m not about fake relationships,” revealed Schandra.

Schandra is a Dallas local and has been designing for 10 years now. He has traveled the world gaining knowledge about fashion and how it works. His natural eye for design has landed him two big deals on HBO, into high end boutiques such as Young and Fabulous in Austin, Texas and running an online store, www.bobbyschandra.com. Along with the designing of bags and accessories, Schandra also runs a Public Relations Firm in Dallas, TX. With this, he wants to help business owners expand and grow their companies. Schandra is happy to have reached the point where he is today, but still has big plans for the Schandra line. He definitely wants to take it to the next level and expand his brand. What is it about designing women’s bags and accessories that you enjoy? I love designing the bags because there is so many different shapes, colors, sizes, material and hardware to work with. You are only limited to your imagination. Accessories are just fun, you can jazz up an outfit with just a few. You can take something plain and make it look fabulous. Has life dramatically changed since you started working with HBO? No, not really. I try to stay away from all the parties and keep my friends close. When you have reached a certain level of success people start coming around just to come around, and I try to stay away from that. What keeps you grounded? My father had a huge influence on me and again, my friends and family help with this also. In addition I try and stay busy and continue to grow my business. I am still not where I want to be so I have to remember my goals and keep my mind focused. So you are also in a band? (laughing) Yes, I am. We play all kinds of music and our band name is RoJaBo. What can we expect to see in your line this spring? Killer iPhone 5 cases; totally blinged out, incredible new bags, some are already out, fabulous jewelry and beautiful watches.

How To Keep Your Sex Life Sizzling

Know

by Chris J Roberts

How to keeping your sex life sizzling? It takes work but with a little imagination you can have an incredible sex life. Don’t allow yourselves to fall into a rut. If you find that your sex life is getting boring you should do something to spice it up and get it sizzling again. Adult toys such as handcuffs and silky blindfolds can help. Being handcuffed and blindfolded while sprawled out naked on the bed while your lover has his way with you can certainly add some sizzle to any sex life. The feeling of having no control is enough to arouse most men and women, assuming of course that you feel safe and comfortable with your lover. Push his buttons believe it or not men have more than one button they like pushed. If you haven’t discovered his sensitive spots it’s time to do so. Try the back of his neck or behind his ears, the inside of the uppermost part of his thigh usually has a button too. Men love their women who know how to give him a good massage on their bodies with oil. Try giving him a good massage and I’m sure your partner will love it, you need practice and I’m sure he will not protest! Allow him to experiment on you, surely you must have some sensitive spots he hasn’t discovered yet, you may not even know where they are. Be adventurous and just let loose. There is something to be said for the 10 minute quickie which is better performed anywhere except the bed! The element of excitement you will get from having sex in the bathroom or the kitchen is enough to make you reconsider the old notion of a quickie not meaning much. Have sex in the morning or afternoon where you can achieve the same results whether the sun is shining or the moon is beaming. The same is true for outdoors if your backyard is private why not throw down a blanket under the oak tree or see if that hammock can really hold 300 pounds! If you think this will keep your sex life sizzling then why not try it! Maybe your sex life has been a bit boring all along and you just never realized it!

Using SEX To Relieve Stress by Ruth Purple

“Not tonight, Josephine” even the famous conqueror Napoleon Bonaparte can decline the carnal needs from the Empress Josephine because of stress, well I’m not sure about that but basically most couples compromise their sex-life because of too much pressure. If only I’d get a penny for every man and woman who complains of having less and less sex, I’d be a very rich woman by now. One of the main reasons why there is a decline in a couple’s sex life, especially for long term lovers is the dominant presence of anxiety, distress, pressure coupled with over familiarity and too many obligations. Some couples may be unaware with the fact that sex plays an important role in the relationship; it keeps you closer and more intimate.

To Please Your

Man in Bed by Chris J Roberts

How do you know what your man wants and how to please a man in bed? Besides the obvious, sex! You could ask him or you could take the time to find out for yourself which is the best way because you get to experiment and you might both find something you enjoy that you may not have thought of. Sex should be fun and trying to figure out what he wants with no help from him may be a bit discouraging. As silly as it sounds, try playing a game next time you go to bed. You can play it in the form of 20 questions. You can each either have 10 questions or 20 if you prefer to play by the rules. How to please a man in bed is not complicated. Ask your guy a question about his likes such as, ‘you like your neck tickled?’ Then tickle his neck even if he said he didn’t like it you might both be surprised if he really does. Another fun way to sure please a man in bed is to try some role playing. Get a few different colored wigs and a few cute, sexy costumes and see how he reacts to them. If he enjoys this you can pick up a few costumes for him that will fulfill both your fantasies. You can also find out a lot just by paying attention to what he watches on TV and listen to him when is talking to a friend, (not eavesdropping), just listen. Most likely he will not be telling his buddy what he wants you to do to him in bed but you can pick up on some of your own ideas based on his conversations. For example, if he is a Dallas Cowboys Fan, you may want to dress up like a cheerleader. There are so many subtle ways to please your man in bed, you just have to pay attention and use your imagination just a little. You may even be surprised at what you can come up with when you combine his interests with your own. If all else fails just ask him, most men are more than happy to tell you exactly what they want!

Believe me, a sexless union will eventually takes its toll. The best way to prevent this from happening is to re-think your views about it. Never think that sex is an additional burden or “obligation” to be done on the contrary it can be a perfect tool to relieve stress.

Here are some more reasons why intercourse is an excellent way to relieve stress. It includes deep breathing. Deep, relaxed breathing relaxes stress - out body and oxygenates the blood. Aside from deep breathing, the sense of touch soothes every anxiety and worry, making you feel comforted and supported. And scientifically Yes, it has been proven that it is a perfect way speaking, during copulation, your body releases to relieve stress. First and foremost, a good endorphins, the hormone responsible for making copulation equates good mood. So, if you want you feel good all over. your husband or you to be always grinning from ear to ear try to get some great dose of coitus every The physical work out involved during intercourse night. And add some color into it, don’t just wham is also a certain way to relieve stress but don’t it then snore yourself to sleep. over do the physical activity or you’ll suffer from fatigue. How to relieve stress using sex is Give time for foreplays. If both of you are tired the most effective way to bring back the spark and exhausted from all the days work, rub some to your relationship. So, instead of using other massage oil with each other and take turns giving alternatives to relieve stress, why not use sex a very sensual massage. A sensual massage is with your one and only instead, it’s good for you. always one of the best foreplay there is and of course a perfect way to relieve stress.

MEN’S MIXED SIGNALS

If you are single, looking for a relationship, or dating you are sure to receive many mixed messages during the course of your lifetime. Example, you meet a great guy and hit it off. He says he’ll call, but he doesn’t. Instead he sends a brief text message letting you know that he’ll call you tomorrow. Then, instead of calling, he sends you a message on Facebook the day after tomorrow and invites you for a few drinks with a group of his buddies. At the bar he’s engaged in conversation with you, flirting, and all seems well. Then you notice that he’s flirting with another girl in the group. It’s seriously confusing. Did he invite you as his date? A friend? A fling? Dating is full of confusion. What makes matters worse is women believe that men are never clear on what they say or what they mean. It is my hope that these tips will help decode those mixed messages a little less difficult--and a little less devastating. Often we hear women speak in detail about the tone of voice the guy used, the relevant pauses, and the speed of his response. The stories of how they got a long SO well and all of a sudden he just backed off and now they feel he’s playing games. Or how on drunken nights he’ll either randomly send you a text saying how much you mean to him, how much he misses you, how much he wants you, and then the next day he’s cold as ice and acts as if he never said those things. There are plenty of situations where women feel that we men are sending mixed signals and they’re at their wits end. Truth of the matter is we are simple creatures who want simple things. The less drama, games and BS there is in our relationships, the better. Where “he” is accused of sending mixed signals or playing games, he’s really not. The Mixed signals are the difference between what you want to see from him, and what he actually does. Game playing is the difference between the fantasy scenario you have conducted in your head of what he’ll do next, and the reality of what he actually does. For every type or class of man there is a behavior standard. Confusing each type of man with the man you want him to be is what creates the mixed signals. We’ll touch base on the type of men most women encounter : The Non-Commiter, The Player, The Jerk, and The Nice Guy.

50 _Celebritynights.com_April-June

THE NON-COMMITTER

THE JERK

This man is very simple to read. The non-committer is just looking for a woman. However, there is no room in his life for the woman. He usually finds a million excuses why he can’t find the right woman and uses such excuses to explain why he is still unattached. They’re brief, to the point, require little time, and will likely not lead to introspection. It sounds sad, but it’s true. Some people are so selfish that they create walls and boundaries to protect themselves from committing.

A jerk wears his agenda on his sleeve. He’s a strong, dominant, untamable man who knows the dating game and how to prioritize his life -- putting himself first. He won’t let people walk all over him, and by doing so, he effectively becomes a challenge. The unpredictable guy who lives hard and adopts the love-‘em-and-leave-‘em philosophy will inevitably leave a trail of disgust in his wake. However, women are obviously interested in certain jerk behaviors. As long as women are demanding a certain type of behavior (the jerk appeal), there will always be a healthy supply of jerks to go around. Every woman wants a man who is strong, confident, and dominant; with a devilish twinkle in his eye, as well as the sensitivity and kindness of the nice guy. The problem with cool indifference is that it borders on neglect and disinterest and only the most skilled jerks can pull it off.

They know you aren’t the one, but you are better than nothing, so they keep you around. They won’t give you any sort of commitment but make you feel special enough to not give up on the relationship completely. They are choosing not to date you exclusively. People who don’t commit know what they are doing. Noncommitters hate committing, but don’t like being alone. So they will say and do just enough to keep you there, but never enough to satisfy your emotional needs. What creates the illusion of mixed signals is simple. You want more from the Non-Commiter, you expect more from the Non-committer because you deserve more, but you’ll never get what you want from this type of man. Because he is much more concerned with his sense of self, instead of you. It’s best to move on even if it hurts.

THE PLAYER What we women interpret as game playing is usually his way of minimising his effort while still achieving maximum results. For example, you go out and He’s super-attentive and adorable and lovely and you can’t wait to see him again. He’s 100% focussed on you and it’s awesome. He says all the right things and does things you might not expect, which is a bit refreshing. As the night progresses, you’re impressed with his mysteriousness, style, eloquence, and unpredictability that the prospect of sex is still on the table. He has now achieved his goal. Doing and saying enough to get the maximum result of getting you under the sheets. If he doesn’t succeed in bedding you that night, that’s fine with him. A little challenge is good, but too much of a challenge and he’ll walk away. The goal for the player will always be sex. If the conversations usually gravitate toward sex, chances are, that’s all he wants. He’ll say what needs to be said and do enough to get the results he needs. One way to eliminate the mixed signals is to slow things down and pay attention to his actions. Text message times, frequency and response can give great clues as to what his intentions are. Holding out on sex is also a key. If he walks away from you after two weeks of no nookie, he never wanted a relationship, just the cookie. The goal for the player is instant gratification. To have a woman want him, chase him, lust after him, cry over him, and stroke his ego. If you want to avoid the mixed signals, be more observant of his actions, not his words. If you are made to feel like he doesn’t want you or respect you, he is not the right one for you.

A relationship with a jerk usually gets ugly because he will inevitably take any sign of attachment from the woman he is with as a threat to his free-wheeling ways, and go out of his way to show her that he is, well, a jerk. For instance, if you mention a certain event or concert that you’d like to see a few weeks or months from now, he might interpret this as you attempting to control him. As he is the writer of his own story, he’ll go out and find himself another woman without telling you or giving you a real reason as to why. As previously mentioned, it is here where you women believe that the signals he is sending are being mixed. The truth of the matter is, what you want out of a jerk isn’t always what you are going to get. Rationalizing his lies and mistakes, excusing his behavior, and hoping that he’ll change will get you nowhere fast. A jerk will be interested in one thing alone, himself. A jerk cannot be changed, nor can you hope to change him. Attempting to make him a better man will only end in failure. The vision you have of this jerk becoming a great man because of you is an illusion you have to give up. A man will only change if he is willing to, he cannot be forced to be your ideal man. The more you force your ideals of who and what he should be, the faster the jerk will leave you. So what to do? If you’re in love with the big lug, you can’t just leave, the heart wants what it wants. Only thing you can do is compromise and accept that you are not his priority.

THE NICE GUY If nice guys are what women really want, then why is it that most nice guys are single? Why is it that we constantly hear stories about women dating jerks that took them for a ride on the largest emotional roller coaster? The fact is that women generally don’t want nice guys, or maybe they’re too busy chasing after jerks to realize that they do. Why? Because women act on impulse and emotion rather than fact. Who do you suppose brings out these same irrepressible emotions in women? The jerks, the players, and the non-commiters, of course. The problem is that most nice guys are too nice for their own good. The nice guy is smart, kind, he listens, he is attentive, and will do just about anything for the woman they are interested in. Which in turn makes things much too easy and the chances of a relationship are next to nothing. Why? Because a nice guy is far too predictable, boring, clingy, and doesn’t challenge a woman. What a woman wants and needs are often worlds apart. It’s one of the greatest emotional struggles women face. Wanting a good man, but not wanting a door mat; wanting a strong confident man that isn’t afraid to say no, but not be a total jerk. Which is why so many women don’t understand why certain relationships just seem to fizzle or turn into a train wreck. The solution is simple, take it slow, don’t expect more than your love interest is willing to give or handle, and keep things simple. Above all remember who comes first in life...you. If a nice guy is really what you want, seek them out, they’re out there.

THE SOLUTION So what does this all add up to? No one wants to get hurt, but in the same instance, no one wants to have a string of failed relationships. That is why it’s important to have a balanced attitude towards relationships. A man has to be able to court a woman, amuse her and excite her while continuously remaining a challenge. A woman must be able to give a man the freedom he needs, but still be able to ground him in the best of ways. April-June_Celebritynights.com_ 51

Is Your

BEAUTY SALON Dangerous? By: Dave Carse

Are you putting yourself in harms way when you visit your beautician? The answer is yes, quite possibly, unless you are aware of the risks involved with some types of treatments and what you can do to minimize these risks. Here is a quick guide to potentially harmful treatments.

SUNBEDS

BOTOX

By now everyone must know that the incorrect use of sunbeds can increase your chances of getting skin cancer, yet sunbeds are still incredibly popular. However, you might not be aware of the possibility of permanent eye damage. Corneal burning can occur and it is thought that sunbeds increase the risks of cataracts and macular degeneration developing. And last but not least, UV rays cause premature aging and skin damage. You can avoid these effects if you severely limit the frequency of your sunbed visits, wear the correct type of protective goggles and use an appropriate lotion.

Botox involves the injection of a toxin into the skin. This alone should make you stop and think. Less than 10% of patients experience side effects or complication. These include persistent headaches, nausea or flu-type symptoms lasting for several days following the procedure. Less frequently, muscle weakness or drooping can occur. Depending on the site of the injections, this can result in drooping eyelids or persistent drooling. These effects should wear off, but this can take several months. Botox should only be administered by doctors, dentists and registered nurses who are licensed to carry out the procedure.

BIKINI WAXING

FACIALS

Bikini waxing is one of the most popular beauty treatments. It has the benefit that it lets you wear the tiniest of bikinis. So you put up with the pain to get the gain. But did you know that the treatment carries a risk of bacterial infection? The chances of contracting such an infection seem to be fairly low, but for the unlucky few the consequences can be near fatal.

A careless facial performed by an untrained technician can result in serious problems, such as infections or skin that is literally burned off. To stay safe it is important that you ask these questions:

Infection can occur because, prior to being removed, pubic hair protects the genital area. When the hair is removed so is the protection, and bacteria are able to enter the body. Also, if the waxing removes some area of the outer layers of skin another gateway to infection has been opened up. Thus the body becomes vulnerable to a range of infections. You can minimize the risk of infection by satisfying yourself that salon staff have been properly trained for bikini waxing and that your salon has a stringent hygiene procedure for this treatment. 72 _Celebritynights.com_April-June

1. Is the person working on your skin certified to be a skin expert? Look at the certificates to make sure he or she is. 2. If the technician is using any electronics or chemical treatments, is he or she used to working with them? Some technicians aren’t trained on all of the equipment, especially because it advances so quickly. 3. Is everything sanitary and in a place you can see it? When you are getting a skincare treatment the room should look like you are walking into an operation. If you feel uncomfortable with a procedure don’t proceed with it because it can potentially damage the skin. For those with extrasensitive skin, it is suggested to request a patch test, to see if there’s any redness, irritation or swelling of the skin.

PREVENTION

The risk of contracting a serious disease, such as AIDS or Hepatitis B, from a beauty salon procedure is very small. No disease transmission of this sort has been reported; however, if you do become infected, it will probably be a fungal or bacterial infection of the manipulated area instead, although the likelihood of these infections is also minimal. So, what can you do to avoid infection at the beauty salons? Being informed can help you minimize your risk substantially.

Check for licensing: Make sure that your beauty salon and manicurist, pedicurist, waxer, etc. are licensed. If a license is not on display, then ask the salon and/or salon employee to show you their licenses before starting.

INVESTIGATE • Is the general overall appearance of the beauty salon sanitary? • Are all of their supplies clean and orderly? • Are all instruments stored in and removed from a disinfectant solution in front of the client immediately before use? • Is the disinfectant clear and free of debris? • Do the towels look fresh and clean? • Is the trash properly discarded in covered wastebaskets? • Is the working environment smoke-free and well lit? • Do the beauty salon employees wash their hands right before attending to each client and/or service? • Do they ask customers to wash up as well? • Is a new emery board being used for each client? The answers to all of these questions should be “yes.” If you do not feel comfortable for any reason, go with your instincts and look for another salon that’s more acceptable to you.
