aving ventured into the corporate world in the Philippines at age 20, Eugene Rusel worked in IT while taking part-time jobs teaching in a university and selling real estate. Following his dreams first to Malaysia and then Australia, Eugene chased higher-paying roles with improved exposure to new ways of doing business. After 15 years, he felt he had the life experience, the skills and the work ethic to take a real stab at running his own business. ‘With my experience, I wanted to take an existing business model and run with it, rather than get bogged down setting up a brand-new business and brand,’ he recalls. ‘Also, I wanted to maximise my chances of success. Running a franchise eliminates certain risks that new entrepreneurs would usually encounter.’ Eugene heard about InXpress and, in July 2018, started his own business. He hasn’t looked back since.
