SNACK ‘N’ LEARN STOP THE BLEED

A severe bleed can occur anywhere. Minutes count! The Stop the Bleed course teaches you how to recognize a life-threatening bleed and act quickly and eﬀectively to control it and potentially save a life.

This class will provide valuable information about the steps necessary to stop a severe bleed with the appropriate use of pressure, packing, and tourniquets while waiting for emergency responders to arrive. MOLECULAR BREAST IMAGING: FINDING WHAT MAMMOGRAMS MISS

Join Alisha Taylor, BSN, RN with Centennial Hills Hospital to ﬁnd out why simple mammograms may not be able to detect Breast Cancer. According to the Mayo Clinic, almost half of all women have dense breast tissue. This can hide cancer during mammograms. Molecular Breast Imaging (MBI) uses gamma cameras to ﬁnd what mammograms miss.

An Advanced technique. Simple procedure.

A tracing substance is injected in the arm.

Breast cancer absorbs tracing substance. A special camera shows tumors as bright areas.

MBI plus mammogram ﬁnds 4 times more breast cancers than mammograms alone. Researchers studied over 2,500 women with dense breast tissue. A total of 66% of breast cancers were missed by mammograms but caught by MBI. Better testing means conﬁdence in results.
