MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hello Neighbors,

I recently spoke with a new resident who joined us less than a year ago. I asked, as I always do, if he was happy that he moved into the Sun City Aliante HOA and his answer was a resounding “yes.” We continued to talk and he shared with me that he felt that he was becoming a part of the whole experience of living here, because he was getting involved by attending the events that Debbie and Trish work so hard to make available to all of us.

He told me that he plans on attending the meetings of the committees we have, such as Finance, Communications and Property and Grounds, to name a few. He also said he is thinking about joining our Patrol Club that drives throughout the entire community looking for suspicious vehicles or actions of people. I was so pleased to see that he had a plan to become involved and not just pay for his assessments.

When I arrived here in 2009, I was a rookie to the world of an HOA; in fact, I didn't even know what the letters stood for. I was informed of the Standing Committees we had, and I decided to apply for an opening on the Covenant's Committee and was accepted.

This was an eye opening experience as I learned the importance of our community standards and how important it is that resident behavior complies with what is acceptable by our HOA rules. A year after I joined Covenants Committee, I ran for your Board of Directors and was elected on my first attempt. Thus began my assimilation into the heart and soul of our community

My point is to accent the need to get involved in the events and opportunities, and you will quickly feel the vibrancy of the place you call home. There are so many things you can do which cost you nothing but your time and involvement. Our HOA is not just a series of homes under the banner of Sun City Aliante, but a living, vibrant place filled with potential friends and relationships that will bond you together with each other
