BE PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE “His divine power has given us ever thing we need, for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue. Through these he has given us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature.” Ever wonder why promises are given? “So that, by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” (2 Peter 1:3, 4) For this reason, make every effort to add these things to your faith: 1. To your faith -- goodness 2. To your goodness -- knowledge 3. To knowledge -- Self-control 4. To self-control -- patience 5. To patience -- godliness 6. To godliness -- brotherly kindness 7. To brotherly kindness -- Love (charity) For, if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge and work of our lord Jesus Christ. But if any one does not have them, he is short-sighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. Therefore, brothers, give diligence (steady attention and effort) to make your calling and election sure; for if you do these things, You Shall Never Fall. “And you will receive a rich welcome into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:5-11) Peace be with you!
