injection (WFI)” for its manufacturing and clean room operations. “We believe this is another product line that will appeal to hospitals and surgical centers, and it significantly reduces operating costs,” Duffie said. Last November, KRS Global Biotechnology was selected as a Florida Companies to Watch winner, a statewide program managed by economic development group GrowFL. “This award highlights KRS’s capacity to develop the most innovative products and solutions in the outsourcing market that help to improve patient safety and customer satisfaction,” said Roscetti. On March 16, KRS was honored by the South Florida Manufacturing Association with the SFMA Manufacturer of the Year Award in the 1-75 employee category and will now move on to represent the region in the state competition. In December, Governor Rick Scott joined KRS executives, city and county officials and economic development leaders in announcing the company’s plan to invest $28 million and create 160 new jobs. “KRS is honored to have the support of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County and Governor Scott as we expand,” said Roscetti. “Governor Scott’s commit-
ment to the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries in Florida was one of the deciding factors for us to stay and grow here in Florida.” Duffie noted that the KRS Global Biotechnology expansion was made possible through partnerships between Enterprise Florida, Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, and the City of Boca Raton. “We have received phenomenal support from the community,” added Duffie. “Palm Beach County is a hotbed for life sciences companies, partly because of the flow of talent from our universities and colleges. The level of education here is stellar, and when students graduate, they are ready to work.” Today, KRS is more than just a supplier of compounded products and services, adds Duffie. “Our pharmacists provide guidance to clients on the proper handling of sterile products, regulatory requirements regarding sterile products, and clinical expertise in the use of the products they prepare. We will continue to forge new relationships in American and international markets as we continue to grow our company.”
