Printing We understand that not everyone likes to read online. That’s why we’ve carefully formatted this document so it can be printed easily. There are a variety of ways to do it, depending on your needs. Here are the details: Simple Print—Just press the Print button or select Print from your File menu while you’re in Adobe Acrobat. What you see is what you get. Print for PassPorter—To print this e-book so it can be placed into your deluxe PassPorter, you’ll want to be sure that the pages print at the correct size (5.5” wide by 8.5” tall) and back-to-back. This can be tricky. To print pages at the right size, bring up your Print settings in Adobe Acrobat and look for a “Page Scaling” option—make sure it is either turned off or set at “None.” To print pages back-to-back (on both sides of the sheet of paper), print only the odd pages of the book, take those pages and place them back in the printer, and then print the even pages of the book. This may take some time to get just right. Once the pages are printed, trim them to 5.5” x 8.5” and then use a hole punch to punch out the six marked holes (for insertion in a deluxe binder) or trim the pages on the dotted line (to insert them in the PassPocket of a spiral edition). It’s hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World, but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. In fact, this e-book documents more than 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly, you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money.

❏ Free Disney Planning Video and Kit Disney is more than happy to send residents of the U.S., Canada, and United Kingdom a completely free planning video. You’ll need to fill out some questions about your plans and your household, but it takes less than two minutes. The 30-minute-long DVD arrives approximately 2–3 weeks later, although in our experience it can take longer (up to a month). Your Disney vacation planning kit comes with some pocket-sized planning guides, too. Even if you already requested one of these planning videos in years past, get a new one as they do change! It’s a great way to get in the mood and a particularly good (and free) way to introduce Disney to children. The DVD isn’t strong on information or helpful advice, but the fun images more than make up for it. Because the links to the request pages change frequently, your best bet is to go to the main DisneyWorld.com home page and look for a link that says “Free Vacation Planning DVD.” You can also phone 407-934-7639. ❏ Free Customized Disney Park Maps Get gorgeous, full-color Disney park maps customized with your favorite attractions ... completely free! The maps are large—14” tall x 20” wide—and designed more for display than serious trip planning or navigation. You can customize five maps—one for each of the four major theme parks plus one resort overview. You’ll need to log in (or create a free account) and it takes about 10–15 minutes to customize your maps by selecting various attractions and restaurants as “map favorites.” Once your maps are saved, U.S. residents can “order” them free of charge—allow 2–4 weeks for your maps to arrive (but note that some vacationers have reported that it took up to 8 weeks). You will receive an e-mail indicating your maps are on their way. The maps will arrive with a set of golden stickers for you to mark new favorites after your visit. If you can’t wait for your maps to arrive via U.S. mail, you can print your maps out on your own computer once you’ve saved them. To customize and order your maps, visit the link below. Go to facebook.com and search on “Walt Disney Records” as well as “Lion King - The Musical” and “Mary Poppins - The Musical” to get free songs! Also watch the DisneyWorld.com web site for free music, such as the “Celebrate You” song from the “What Will You Celebrate?” promotion. ❏ Free Postcard From the Parks Kind souls with an upcoming Disney trip volunteer to send postcards to fellow vacationers and share some of the magic! We call them “Fairy Godmailers,” and you’ll find them offering their magical services on the PassPorter Message Boards (check the Making More Magic forum). Check the forum frequently until you spot someone offering to be a Fairy Godmailer, then send them a private message with your postcard request (recipient address, favorite character, message, etc.). Note that Fairy Godmailers are volunteers and do this simply because they love to share Disney magic with others. There’s is a tiny catch—if you get a Fairy Godmailer postcard, it’s good etiquette to offer to be a Fairy Godmailer on your own vacation and spread the magic in turn. ❏ Low-Cost Letter From a Disney Character Wouldn’t it be great if your child(ren), friends, or family members received letters from their favorite Disney characters before their trip? You can make this happen with just a little effort and a stamp or two. Create your letter on Disney stationery or use clip art from the web—be sure to “autograph” it with the character’s signature. Put it in an envelope with a Disney stamp (available at the post office) and include an appropriate return address (such as “Winnie the Pooh, Hollow Walnut Tree, Ashdown Forest, 100 Aker Wood West”). (Thanks to Club Passholder lukesmom for the tip.) Tip: For some extra magic, put the stamped envelope in a larger envelope and send it to the Postmaster in Orlando, Florida.
