Business Just the Facts! 1,268 New Jobs for Pasco County
Activity
Pasco EDC reported 16 expansion, relocation, and start-up business projects completing 600,000 square feet of new construction and absorpting of 77,052 square feet of vacant space. Capital investment, including land, construction, machinery and equipment totaled approximately $598 million. These companies are expected to create 1,268 new jobs and to retain 174 current Pasco employees. Pasco EDC focuses its activities on business attraction, retention and expansion of Primary Target Industries. These 16 companies qualified because of high average annual wages and generation of sales primarily from outside Pasco County, bringing new wealth to our community. New technologies, new products, expanded markets, and increased market share were cited as reasons for growth. Current economic conditions are reflected in this year’s results which show an increase in capital investment, new construction, new job creation and retained jobs.
