Sr. Mary Rinaldi’s letter

Dear Friends,

The young ladies on our cover from Mary Help of Christians Academy in North Haledon, NJ are showing off a rite of passage: their Junior Year Rings. On December 8, the Academy school community came together for Mass in the new St. Joseph Chapel celebrated by Fr. Steve DeMaio, SDB. He encouraged everyone to remember that Mary, our Blessed Mother, is with us through all the ups and downs of our lives. Right before the final blessing, the Class of 2024 received their rings, as a symbol of dedicating themselves more fully to the Mary Help family. Congratulations, Juniors!

Kudos also to the oldest Salesian Sister in our Province, Sr. Rosalie Di Peri, who turned 99 years young on January 7. Although she is now in declining health and not able to communicate much, Sr. Rosalie remains an inspiration, with a twinkle in her eyes and a ready smile. Her blood sister, Sr. Domenica Di Peri, turns 98 this year and is always at her side. They are precious gems in our Salesian Family.

Rest assured of our continued prayers for you and your loved ones, especially during the holy season of Lent, when we prepare ourselves spiritually for the glory of Easter. God bless you and keep you safe and well.

Peace,
