Fort Niagara State Park Link up with the paved bike trail from Youngstown to Lewiston along the scenic Niagara River.

Four Mile Creek State Park This location is convenient to Niagara Falls, Ft. Niagara, Erie Canal, Niagara Wine Trail, Golden Hill Lighthouse, casinos, amusement parks, the Jazz Festival in Lewiston, and great dining.

Beaver Island State Park Voted Western New York’s best beach; this park has a half-mile sandy stretch for swimming in the Niagara River.

Buttermilk Falls State Park Enjoy an easy scenic ride along Upper Buttermilk Falls via Lake Treman Road. Ithaca offers more options for road and mountain bikers. Sampson State Park Here you’ll find a beautiful lakeside ride free from traffic with many opportunities to explore the park’s past as a military facility. Taughannock Falls State Park For the experienced road biker, the 100-mile loop around Cayuga Lake offers amazing scenery and a challenging ride. Watkins Glen State Park The Catharine Valley Trail is a multi-use, non-motorized, level, converted rail trail. It offers some of the best bird watching and nature this area has to offer.

Fillmore Glen State Park Fillmore was recently voted one of America’s top 100 family campgrounds and continues to be a local favorite for scenery and activities.

Allegany State Park Quaker Lake covers 275 acres and is the deepest of Allegany’s 3 lakes.

Allegany State Park Yellow Throated Warblers nest here attracting birdwatchers from all over the state. The park is also home to nesting osprey within view.

Niagara Falls State Park Trek down the Whirlpool Rapids Trail for a close view of the rapids. They’re a geologic phenomenon, and rated a totally un-navigable Class VI.

Letchworth State Park The rugged terrain here has allowed the wildlife—turkey vultures, river otters, timber rattlesnakes, and more—to thrive.

Fort Niagara State Park Offers stunning views of the Toronto skyline on a clear day.

Robert Treman State Park Cool off in a stream-fed pool beneath a waterfall in the designated swim area. Fair Haven Beach State Park A popular spot on Lake Ontario for families.

Sampson State Park Seneca Lake offers abundant opportunities for trout, bass, perch and northern pike. Devil’s Hole State Park The Niagara River holds trophy steelhead. Anglers can also hook brown trout, lake trout, coho salmon, and king salmon.

Fall in Love If romance is what you are seeking, Taughannock Falls State Park is the place to go. The park is a hotspot for weddings and receptions.

Long Point State ParkLake Chautauqua Anglers come here for muskellunge, or “muskie,� which are native to the lake and noted for their size—often more than 30 inches long. In fact, 40 inches is the lake’s minimum to keep.

Watkins Glen State Park The Six Nations Campground offers 305 sites, is 95% shaded by mostly red and white pines and offers direct access to the gorge.

Letchworth State Park The well-stocked Trout Pond has an ADA-compliant fishing pier and easy access all along its shoreline.

Hamlin Beach State Park Clear water, broad sandy beach, and 264 tent and trailer campsites attract thousands of people to this park along Lake Ontario.

Woodlawn Beach State Park The Nature Center features an impressive exhibit with life-sized models of Lake Erie fish. A nature room is dedicated to hands-on exhibits.

WILDFLOWERS Whirlpool State Park Try and spot the pink flower heads of the endangered slender blazingstar in the Niagara Gorge. This is the only place to find it in New York State. Keuka Lake State Park You can find Spotted Joe Pye Weed along the trails at this Finger Lakes park. Taughannock Falls State Park Jack-in-the-Pulpit likes to hide under the shade of deciduous trees.
