And that you cannot help but smile when thinking back on it? at feeling of excitement, being open to the new and diﬀerent, trying it out, daring more than you could ever imagine. With Best of the Fest, Parktheater hopes to instill that feeling in you. It is up to theatres to contribute to a sensitive society in a creative way. A world full of people who inspire and allow themselves to be inspired. I hope you will have a wonderful experience at the performances of Best of the Fest 2013. Best of the Fest, Testing ground for 2018Eindhoven Capital of Culture We started the preparations for Best of the Fest two years ago. Due to the cooperation with 2018Eindhoven it was already possible for us to present a modest first version of the festival last year. It turns out that if you are a candidate for Capital of Culture all kinds of doors that were previously closed are now open. is year, among other things, we set up a partnership with the Grec Festival in Barcelona, according to the concept of the Testing ground: 100Femmes. is 8-year project, led by Best of the Fest, will be developed into a major international collaboration between the former and future Capitals of Culture. e Best of the Fest poster also displays the 2018Eindhoven logo. If we hear on September 6 that we have been awarded the title Capital of Culture, it will be partly due to the development of this new festival. Late Night Sparkling Wine Tasting is trio of ‘Songeliers’ make a musical toast to the funny, embarrassing and honest moments that are aroused by the enticing elixir of sparkling wine. Hallo Cultuur! Best of the Fest coincides with the opening of Eindhoven’s cultural season, which is traditionally celebrated with the Hallo Cultuur! event. Some thirty arts venues will be opening their doors and oﬀering free samples of theatre, music, exhibitions, film and workshops. e Parktheater will be holding a festive, unusual, and hopefully sunny, afternoon of performances between 13:00 and 17:00 h. Collectif Lyon.05 - 100Femmes (Dutch premiere) e Parktheater and Collectif lyon.05 invited one hundred women from all walks of life to meet and share opinions and ideas on stage. eir answers to questions about how they see their city, the world and the time in which they live were then used to write the script for this new performance. Collectif lyon.05 is touring the world to create a fascinating view of women’s lives in a fast-changing Europe. In line with Eindhoven’s candidacy for the 2018 Cultural Capital 100Femmes connects theatregoers and -makers from all over Europe. Ursula Martinez - My Stories, Your Emails (Dutch premiere) ursula Martinez is known to be an allrounder. She writes, acts, but is above all a cult cabaret diva. In My stories, Your Emails she gives humorous commentaries about e-mails she received. An image about the internet, being famous, obsession, censorship and loneliness. e highlight is her strip act, which made her famous worldwide.
