2022 Highlights

American Holidays

Each American holiday is celebrated with great enthusiasm at Parker. For every American Holiday, our patients/residents are invited to join an interactive social celebratory activity planned by our Therapeutic Recreation Department. One of our most exciting holiday celebrations in 2022, was our Halloween Trick or Treat extravaganza. Each residential floor was decorated by our staff members and departments. Patients/ residents, dressed up and were able to trick or treat on each floor.

While we enjoy our fun and festive American holidays, we also observe our solemn and commemorative holidays. On Veterans Day, we acknowledged the service and sacrifices our very own veterans residing at Parker. We did this by distributing certificates to all our veteran residents, thanking them for their service,

Spiritual Celebrations

Parker embraces the spirituality of all patients/residents. In our efforts to provide the highest level of compassionate care, we offer services and amenities for our patients/residents to partake in their religious observance whether it be Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, or Islam. Throughout the year we welcome religious patrons, rabbis, priests, imams, and pandits. For every major religious holidays, we send an E-blast to our residents, patients, and their families. For the high holy holidays, we hold services that all patients/residents can partake in. For fun festive religious holidays, such as Purim or St. Patrick’s Day, our Therapeutic Recreation department hosts interactive celebrations, such as cookie decorating, arts and crafts, and games. All spiritual celebrations are inclusive, and it allows patients/ residents to not only embrace their own spirituality, but also learn about others. It is truly a beautiful thing to see such an embrace and acceptance of our unique diversity both religiously and culturally.
