TaylorMade AeroBurner Metalwoods
Burn Baby Burn! It’s all about speed in the new TaylorMade AeroBurner franchise – sleek-looking drivers, fairways and rescues with an improved Speed Pocket and advanced aerodynamics to promote effortless distance for all players. “For the golfers who missed the phenomenon that was RocketBallz, or for those who are ready to upgrade to more speed and distance in their metalwoods, AeroBurner is what you are looking for,” said Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade’s senior director of product creation for metalwoods. “We’ve drastically improved the performance of the sole’s Speed Pocket and significantly improved the aerodynamics to deliver maximum speed to the golfer.” The AeroBurner family has the largest Speed Pocket ever in a TaylorMade metalwood, which enhances ball speed on mishits. The name ‘AeroBurner’ derives from the product’s advanced aerodynamics, featuring an ‘Aero hosel’ – a small fin located at the heel of the club to reduce drag – a raised centre crown and rounded toe section. All three work as a system to improve aerodynamics and lower drag force.
AeroBurner Driver The striking AeroBurner driver features a new Speed Pocket which is twice as big as the JetSpeed (the first driver to feature the technology). Unlike the JetSpeed, AeroBurner drivers do not have loft sleeve technology which allows the length of the Speed Pocket to be extended across the entire sole. The AeroBurner driver also features Inverted Cone Technology, used in every TaylorMade driver since the R500 Series in 2002. Milled into the inner side of the clubface, this promotes higher ball speed on offcentre hits. The new matte white pearlized paint finish with black PVD face provides a stark contrast and helps in alignment. The AeroBurner driver is available in three lofts (9.5°, 10.5° and 12°) and the Asian version comes with an ultra-light 50-gram TM1-215 Mitsubishi Rayon shaft in S, SR and R flexes. The longer, lighter shaft and light grip adds up to less than 295g in total club weight, promoting faster swing speeds. A slightly higher swing weight improves feel of the club and promotes faster ball speed. The global specifications driver comes with a Matrix Speed Rul-Z shaft and weighs in at less than 300g in total. A Tour Preferred (TP) version is available with longer .335 hosel to allow for a wide range of TP shaft offerings. Its stock shaft is the new Matrix Ozik 6X4 White Tie.
“For the golfers who missed the phenomenon that was RocketBallz, or for those who are ready to upgrade to more speed and distance in their metalwoods, AeroBurner is what you are looking for.” Brian Bazzel, senior director of product creation for metalwoods, TaylorMade
