OVERVIEW Aim: Comprehending the experiential qualities of urban wilderness in the city of Vadodara. Objectives: This research thesis will focus on the idea of wilderness its meanings, conceptions and values. Scope and Limitation: To document experiential qualities through parameters derived from the literature study. Documentation only refers to urban wilderness and not natural wilderness. Methodology: The first part of the study focuses on understanding the concept of wilderness in totality through literature survey which further includes exploration of underlying meanings and elements. Further, documentation is done to analyze and understand the experiential qualities of wilderness on the basis of parameters drawn from the literature survey. Rationale: Wilderness in urban regions offers manifold chances to reconnect urban people with nature and to support biodiversity conservation in cities.
