Further on, Dirawong Reserve Coastal Walks holds great spiritual significance for the Traditional custodians.The Dirawong, also known as the Goanna Spirit, is home to many sacred and native animals. We ask that all who walk on this reserve, treat it with respect by remaining on the walking tracks. Please be mindful that some may have steep climbs or rocky high points.
CYCLE, WALK or SKATE on the extensive shared walk/ride/scooter footpaths to experience Evans Head and join the locals on their morning and afternoon walk which starts at the Surf Club. Take your time, and just south, over the bridge, is gym equipment and the opportunity to stop for fish and chips at the Evans Head Fish Co-op, for the energy to get you to Razorback Lookout for some Whale watching.
In amongst the natural beauty, Evans Head hosts a unique Australian aviation event ‘The Great Eastern Fly In’ Cancelled so far this year but keep posted. The Evans Head Heritage Aviation Museum is open on weekends.
