Amery supports Alicia Monson as she shows the best of what small town America can achieve

As soon as her feet hit the soft surface of the Harvey Stower Trail, Olympian Alicia Monson is home.

Alicia grew up in Amery Wisconsin. Here, she had the opportunity to grow up with a group of youth who strived to succeed, whether in academics, arts, or athletics. They took pride in each other’s accomplishments and pushed each other to do their best.

She began to run competitively in middle school, and it was in high school she realized her gift and love of running. Amery runners have the challenging hills of the school forest for strengthening and the beautiful Stower Trail to provide a safe route for long runs. She went on to win three high school state championships for the Amery Warriors. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and ran as a Badger. While competing there, she earned a degree in Dietetics/Nutritional Science as well as earning many athletic honors including Big Ten titles, All-American titles and an NCAA title. When her college career ended, she became a professional runner with On Running as a member of the On Athletics Club. After a hard-fought battle at the 2021 Olympic trials, she represented the U.S.A. in Tokyo, Japan at the 2021 Olympics in the 10,000m race.

She continues to run on the world stage. She represents the support of a small community with dedication and drive. Amery supports Alicia as she shows the best of what small town America can achieve.
