Il Progetto From "0" to Infinity Art Work che l'artista svizzero Paolo Grassi ha iniziato nel 2007 ha quale obiettivo primario che tutti ne dovrebbero possedere un frammento (Elemento) sia esso di grandi o piccole dimensioni, sia un dipinto, una scultura o una performance, siano essi acquistati, siano essi commissionati all'artista. Attualmente sono oltre 150 le persone o le istituzioni che ne posseggono una o più opere (i collezionisti).

From “0” to Infiniy Art Work, 249th Element Created 2022, Oxidized iron

Marilena was originally conceived for the Matematicando 2020 exhibition organized by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI ) cancelled for Covid19 to be made in a reduced scale in bronze.

Paolo Grassi, given the protracted nature of Pandemia and in view of the success of the study model created, decided for its realization in the size now proposed (height 2.5 meters) using the material Cor Ten.

It is a geometric work composed of 2 parallelepipeds placed parallel at the bottom and top of 100 x 60 cm and are spaced by 2 elongated rhomboidal elements.

One fixed internally from the extremes of the short side from right down to left the top and the other at 90 degrees is placed at both ends and of a width corresponding to half the long side of the two parallelepipeds. The Marilena Opera consists of the numbers ranging from 5'574 to 5'597.

Marilena è stata originalmente pensata per la rassegna Matematicando 2020 organizzata dalla Scuola Universitaria professionale della Svizzera Italiana (SUPSI) annullata per il Covid19 da realizzarsi in scala ridotta in bronzo.

Paolo Grassi, visto il protrarsi della Pandemia e in considerazione del successo ottenuto dal modello di studio realizzato, ha deciso per la sua realizzazione nella dimensione ora proposta (altezza

2.5 metri) utilizzando il materiale Cor Ten.

È un'opera geometrica composta da 2 parallelepipedi posti parallelamente in basso e in alto di 100 x 60 cm e sono distanziati da 2 elementi romboidali allungati.

Uno fissato internamente dagli estremi del lato corto da destra in basso verso sinistra in alto e l'altro a 90 gradi è posizionato alle due estremità e di una larghezza corrispondente alla metà del lato lungo dei due parallelepipedi.

L’Opera Marilena è composta dai numeri che vanno dal 5'574 al 5'597.

A conceptual work guarantees great flexibility as far as its more physical component is concerned, but conversely imposes stricter conditions on the subject. The numerical sequence must always be strictly adhered to and is absolutely not repeatable.

The number-only project From "0" to infinity thus allows Paolo Grassi to express himself with different mediums, styles and techniques that are linked together in the conceptual context of the infinite work that underlies it, and of which each Element contains a secret in the technique of realization, in the materials, in the sequence and in the numerical composition.

Un'opera concettuale garantisce una grande flessibilità per quanto riguarda la sua componente più fisica, ma viceversa impone condizioni più rigide al soggetto. La sequenza numerica deve essere sempre rigorosamente rispettata e non è assolutamente ripetibile.

Il progetto solo numerico From "0" to infinity permette quindi a Paolo Grassi di esprimersi con diversi mezzi, stili e tecniche che si legano tra loro nel contesto concettuale dell'opera infinita che lo sottende, e di cui ogni elemento contiene un segreto nella tecnica di realizzazione, nei materiali, nella sequenza e nella composizione numerica.
