Thank you to all the community groups who gathered in support of an alcohol and drug rehabilitation centre.

10 November 2020, Victoria Park Dubbo A number of community members gathered to plant an Angophora oribunda, commonly known as the roughbarked apple, in Dubbo’s Victoria Park to symbolise their support for the residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation centre in the Dubbo region. Those who gathered were unanimous in their joy and positivity about the recent funding announcement of $7.5 million from the NSW Government for the construction and recurrent costs for a highly anticipated centre. The NSW Government funding will complement an existing $3m commitment from the Australian Government. Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) has committed to allocating a parcel of land for the construction a centre, as well as providing in-kind support for expenses related to Development Approvals. Council has been a strong advocate for the establishment of a detoxiďŹ cation and residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation centre, in the Dubbo region. Council thanks the community for its ongoing support.
