This competition provides an extraordinary experience because we offer thematic and modular solutions in the form of installations, while other teams create works on a large scale and also urban macro scale

We were appreciated for presenting work that was different from usual until the jurors judge us like sales marketing, we are the only team that has the initiative to make maquettes and also conducts research on our competitors using BCG (Boston Consultan Group) diagrams by comparing the scale of relistic and affordable

Halo is an architectural design with the theme of psychological detoxification for urban commuters. The design presents a pseudo and real spatial quality in the function of architecture in the form of a veil of rings (halo) with characters that are contextual to the location and the needs of the commuters.

Through Halo Lets Talk; Lets Watch, Lets Listen; and Lets Eat, aims to make the new spatial experience for the boring of commuting to be more enjoyable, so that the return of the previously bad into good vibes.

- - CONTEXT

MRT is a new mode of transportation in Jakarta which is awaited by the public with various euphoria.

At its launch, several potentials were found that made the MRT station unique. Especially on the corridor, is a strategic meeting place for people from all backgrounds, and also a place for some spontaneous activities such as art and economy events

These various potentials can then become a catalyst for overcoming various psychological problems, but unfortunately, there is no link between these two variable.

Waves of Busy People without Living and Personal Space

Urban activities that seem fine but cause physical and psychological problems for the culprit. Rigid facility design, although efficient, does not cure the existing problems.

The Waves Experience Slow Turbulence due to the Creation of Space

Design interventions entered into corridor facilities to accommodate potential and social activities at the station. These potentials will be a catalyst for psychological & physical healing. Design detoxifies mentally through sensory stimulation of stressed users.

New Space Created Fun Experience through the Offered Activities

After design interventions entered, a selection of new activities emerged that could stimulate and relax the psychic users of MRT through their five senses. Commuting activities that were initially tired and boring then became more fun.

Unhealthy commuting routines are very destructive to health if they are not matched by poor diet. Halo let’s eat functions as a space that facilitates food providers that can be consumed by MRT users

The large number of MRT users is a large market for art exhibitions. Halo, let’s watch as a space that facilitates exhibitions of art or products from various other communities

Music is the right entertainment for users of the awaiting transportation. Halo, let’s listen as a space that facilitates music performances by musicians or performers.

Halo, let’s talk functions as a space that facilitates private communication for MRT users. Users who need volunteer friends enter to chat with other people or need some privacy

In Talk and Eat mode, the covering part of Halo uses cloth fabric to give the effect of spatial impression but can be accessed visually by other users in the form of shadows.

In Watch and Listen mode, the cover uses an alvaboard to provide a special area that can be used as an exhibition and also musical performances to give a good acoustic effect.
