ACROSS THE DESK By Robin Noll

The last piece of the puzzle and then another issue will be a sleep at the printer for a few short hours than they’ll get it on the press and we’ll start our delivery routine. Sorry about last month’s article but no one really noticed. Whitey had his annual cancer check up. They kept changing it on us so it wound up on a deadline day. We did get good news and he is now cancer free. Thank you Jesus! Cancer , or any sickness is hard on a family to go through. It does test your love and devotion for one another. We made it by the help of God and some amazing friends and family who were there for us. I love my family so much and my church family as well. There are so many events happening throughout the summer it makes it hard to decide which ones to go to. One big event happening in our area is the Summer Music Festival happening July 15th, 16th and 17th at the Millerstown Community Park along the beautiful Juniata River.

A sum of money was left by a generous person for the people of Millersstown to build a Community Park and they have put a lot of thought and care into it. The stage area is fantastic and as you listen to music you can see the river in the background. Jake has been working on this event for over a year. It’s a Festival with all the proceeds going to the local American Red Cross. The event begins on Friday the 15th at noon with Carly Clark opening up the event followed by The Jay Players, Thieves & Lovers, Jesse Baker Band and the last band of the evening will be Fully Loaded. Saturday on the 16th bands begin at 12 noon once again with Dark Matter Trio followed by Redneck Ruckus, The Vintage Band, Friend of Bob and ending the night is The Ryan Alan Band. Ryan is a talented vocalist and entertainer and the boys have written some great originals. Sunday there is a Community Church Service that starts at 10:30 AM with Heaven’s Thunder band starting at noon followed by Entrusted365 and then at 4pm The Colt Wilbur Band will complete the show. There will also be a Silent Auction, Food Court, Kids Zone, Vendors, a Pet Picture contest and so much more. Buy your tickets eartly and save it’s $25 for a 3 day pass
