FOR NEARLY

2 GENERATIONS

Santa Margarita Catholic High School has been a beacon for local young men and women like your child who are just beginning to think about their place in the world. Through the vision and dedication of the late Bishop Wiliam R. Johnson and our founding families, SMCHS opened its doors in the fall of 1987 with a charter class of 216 students and today is home of nearly 1700 proud Eagles. Santa Margarita Catholic High School offers a college-preparatory education emphasizing the formation of the entire person.

FOR MORE THAN

27 YEARS Caritas Christi –the love of Christ - has been ever present, big ideas have been introduced in our classrooms, and championships have been won on our fields. Here, no goal ever seems too high, no dream too big for a Santa Margarita student, whether that means pursuing an education at one of the best universities in the world, or launching a career in business, finance, medicine, the arts or even professional sports.

Your Investment in Our Future

The generosity of families, alumni, alumni parents and our community has propelled us forward to provide the best campus possible. In 2007, the much anticipated Aquatic Center opened boasting an Olympic-sized, 50-meter pool. The Sacred Heart Chapel was renovated in 2008 and serves as the spiritual center of campus. The campus expanded in 2010 with the addition of the Eagle Athletic Center – the first LEEDcertified, green building in the city of Rancho Santa Margarita and the Diocese of Orange. The facility rivals athletic facilities at the nation’s top universities. The school’s commitment to the environment continued with the Academic Services Center which was completed in the spring of 2011, also a LEED-certified building. The center includes 10 new smart classrooms equipped with innovative technology including interactive white boards, a 3,700 square-foot Digital Media Studio – home to Eagle TV – and counseling, ASP and academic offices. Yet there’s still more to come.
