What is Chabad Motivated by his profound love for every Jew and spurred by his boundless optimism and self-sacrifice, the Rebbe set into motion a dazzling array of programs, services and institutions to serve every Jew by establishing Chabad Houses worldwide. These centers were set up to serve as regional headquarters for all things Jewish, as well as educational and social centers. The purpose of a Chabad House is to serve the community by offering a wide range of multi-faceted activities, and indeed be the creative engine room for Jewish activities in the area. Chabad Houses serve as a center that provides Jewish education on all levels. Depending on the location and community make up, the activities may vary. When necessary, Chabad is instrumental in establishing schools for students of all ages and provides structured after-school classes, Bar and Bat Mitzvah classes and extracurricular activities. Programs for all ages present a full array of informal education geared toward Jewish festival appreciation and Jewish identity awareness. Chabad Houses are world renowned for their sophisticated adult education programs, providing individual and group classes in all areas of Jewish thought.

Welcome Dear Friends,

Dear Friends,

Chabad of Boca Raton is pleased to present its 20172018 Program Guide which offers the community a wide range of classes, lectures, Shabbat Scholarsin-Residence, Cantors, feature films and family programs.

I hope you look through this book in its entirety. I am sure you will find something that peaks your interest no matter your affiliation or age. If it’s intellectual stimulation that excites you, I encourage you to try one of our weekly classes, JLI classes or special guest lectures. If it’s social events you want, join a Shabbat or Holiday dinner where there is always a warm and inviting crowd. If you have young children, then join our youth programs, Preschool and Hebrew School, or teenagers, we’ve got an amazing C-Teen program just for you. Whatever it is you’re looking for, it’s sure to be somewhere in this book.

Jewish education forms the backbone of every Jewish community. A community which is involved with its heritage is one which is growing and never stagnant. We ensure our vitality and endurance through the study of our tradition. The unbroken chain of Judaism which spans the ages has been forged by the words of Torah. It is incumbent upon each and every one of us to attach our own personal link to the chain, so that ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren will inherit the richness and beauty of Judaism. This year resolve to increase your Jewish studies and involvement in your community. Our classes, programs, lectures and Friday night meals promise to intrigue, stimulate and enhance your spiritual growth. They will inspire feelings of meaning, hope, purpose and value. Regardless of your current level of knowledge or your particular interests, we have a class, lecture or program for you and your family. We welcome you to join us.

If you would like to volunteer in helping with any of our programs or would like to sponsor a program, please let me know. Lastly, if you have any suggestions, comments or ideas, I would love to hear them so that we can implement them in the future. Looking forward to seeing you, Rabbi Arele Gopin

With best wishes, Rabbi Moishe & Rivkah Denburg Rabbi Arele & Chaya Gopin Rabbi Yossi & Shainy Denburg

Mikvah Mei Menachem Leonard Kaleky Mikvah In Memory of Errol Shuster

There is nothing more holy in this world, nothing more precious to its Creator, than the union of a man and a woman. It is, after all, the fountain of life. What could be more precious than life—other than the source from which life comes? Precious things are kept in sealed boxes. Roses hide behind the thorns. There are clothes you wear to work or play, but there are also treasures in your wardrobe so beautiful, of such value, that they come out only at special times, under specific conditions. The union of a man and a woman is so precious that if it is treated casually, without conditions or boundaries, it becomes ugly and even destructive. Which all goes to explain why in the Jewish way of life there is a cycle of union and separation between husband and wife. And why the most important institution of Jewish life, next to the home, is the mikvah that stands at the vortex of that cycle. Because precious things only stay beautiful when you follow the manufacturer's instructions.Consistently, couples report their relationships rejuvenated when they start living by the rules of separation and mikvah. A Spa for the Soul, Today's mikvah looks more like a fashionable spa than a ritualarium. Luxurious bath and powder rooms, complete with fresh towels, disposable slippers, a comfortable robe, soap, shampoo, nail clippers and all the other essentials necessary are usually provided. By appointment only. For appointments please call 561-674-0877
