NEW STUDENTS: How to apply and enroll
1) APPLY AND ENROLL ONLINE AT www.palomar.edu or submit a written application to the admissions office on the San Marcos campus, at the Escondido Education Center or any of the education sites. Visit the admissions office or apply online to receive your enrollment appointment. Call admissions at 760-744-1150, ext. 2160 for recorded information or call ext. 2164 for assistance. 2) APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID Palomar students may be eligible for federal financial aid (FAFSA), a fee waiver (BOG Waiver), or scholarships. Visit the Financial Aid, Veterans and Scholarship Services Office in the Student Services Center on the San Marcos campus or visit online at www.palomar.edu/fa for program information, applications, and eligibility criteria. For information, call 760-891-7510. 3) ATTEND AN ASSESSMENT, ORIENTATION AND ADVISEMENT SESSION Students who are first-time college freshmen or who are enrolling in English and math courses may be required to complete assessment, orientation and advisement prior to enrolling in courses. Students who have previously enrolled at another college can request an exemption from this process. To set up an assessment appointment or to request an exemption, call 760-744-1150, ext. 2476 or ext. 2383. 4) DEVELOP AN EDUCATION PLAN Students can learn about prerequisites, general education and major requirements by attending a group or individual counseling appointment to outline an educational plan. 760-891-7511. 5) ENROLL IN CLASSES THAT WILL MEET YOUR EDUCATIONAL GOALS Once your application is processed, you will be issued an online enrollment appointment. Enroll online at www.palomar.edu. 6) PAY YOUR FEES Students who enroll in classes must pay their fees promptly. Those who do not pay within 10 days of enrolling will be automatically dropped from classes. A final drop for non-payment of fees will occur in the week preceding the start of classes. Students who are not automatically dropped will be responsible for dropping their own courses before the refund deadline.
