or the 34th annual Palo Alto Festival of the Arts, University Avenue will be transformed into an open air gallery highlighting 300 fine art and fine craft artisans with many one-of-a-kind art pieces August 22 & 23, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival is presented by the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. Avid art collectors and festival-goers looking for something different will have an outstanding selection of fine art to browse and purchase as they walk among the artisan displays. These imaginative and uniquely cutting-edge art pieces will only be shown at this Palo Alto festival. From the simple elegance of bronze table top sculptures to whimsical 12-ft.-tall stainless steel kinetic sculptures, this eye candy will be perfect for entry ways or garden landscapes. This year’s Sculpture Plaza will showcase the outstanding craftsmanship of ceramic artist Damien Jones. His larger-than-life figurative creations and 3-D fountain sculptures can be seen at the corner of Cowper and University. Also a “must see” - Italian street painting artists creating chalk masterpieces on Tasso at the Italian Street Painting Expo, presented by the Palo Alto Weekly; some squares as large as 12ft. by 12ft. Watch the ‘Picassos on Tasso’ as this temporary art form becomes a vibrant color palette that will captivate you from start to finish. Enjoy the sound of music - an eclectic mix from rhythm & blues to folk - or join in the ukulele jam session at the Webster Stage. Street corner

concerts will delight attendees with a variety of musical styles and interesting sounds created by the Swedish Nyckelharpa and Chapman Stick. Gourmet foods, premium wines, and exciting micro brews, will enhance the experience at this highly popular arts celebration. The Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce proudly hosts this festival of the arts, a showcase of amazing artists from the Bay Area as well as many from other states and salutes the many local businesses and non-profit organizations also involved. The Kiwanis Club of Palo Alto who manages and staffs the several beverage areas, the Palo Alto Parents and Professionals for Art provides professional instruction to the free art activities at the Kids’ Art Studio presented by Crayola, Youth Community Service who oversees the Italian Street Painting Expo, and not to mention the many merchants and restaurants who welcome all guests to their city.
