At least one person died and several others were injured as the continuous heavy monsoon rains on Friday triggered a devastating landslide that struck Mangal Rayan da Banda a rural area of Abbottabad resulting in significant damage to several houses

The incident has left the affected families in distress and in dire need of support Additional Deputy Commissioner for Relief and Human Rights, Rabia Sajjad, immediately visited the disaster-stricken area to evaluate the situation and provide muchneeded assistance Accompanied by her team she met with the affected families and offered her heartfelt condolences for the loss of precious lives due to the landslide Assuring the affected family of the government's support Rabia Sajjad ensured the provision of relief items and financial assistance

NA Secretariat postpones written test for various posts

The National Assembly Secretariat on Friday announced the postponement of the written screening tests for various posts which were originally scheduled to take place on July 31 and August 1 2023 The decision to postpone the examinations comes in light of unavoidable circumstances that have arisen said an official notification received here The aspiring applicants who were eagerly preparing for the tests have been informed about the change in the examination schedule The NA Secretariat has assured all applicants that the revised schedule for the written test would be announced at a later date

This move is aimed at ensuring a fair and transparent testing process for all candidates Applicants are advised to regularly check the official website of the NA Secretariat for further updates and announcements regarding the revised examination schedule the notification maintained

Hussain (RA) provides guidance in every aspect of life and by embracing the principles laid down by Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the society can effectively address the prevailing issues

The chairman and deputy chairman emphasized that the event of Karbala teaches the essence of selflessness patience and perseverance for which no sacrifice is too great It is the same path chosen by Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to stand firm for the cause of truth they added

They said Today is a day of reflection on the profound thoughts and actions of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the unwavering commitment of Imam Hussain (RA), his family and companions, who immortalized this day in the annals of Islamic history by attaining martyrdom in Karbala Imam Hussain (RA) possessed the highest virtues such as the fear of Allah Almighty, generosity, abstinence and courage and through his martyrdom, he set a shining example for all those on the path of righteousness throughout history ” The chairman and deputy chairman further expressed that the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) is a timeless beacon of guidance for all those who strive to walk the path of righteousness It leaves no doubt that his great sacrifice serves as an eternal source of guidance in all spheres of life they maintained They prayed for Allah s blessings upon Pakistan wishing for peace progress and prosperity, and urged everyone to embrace the real message of Youm-e-Ashura, which is rooted in the spirit of sacrifice

The law enforcement authorities have beefed up the security to maintain peace on Youm-e-Ashur on Saturday

With the induction of extra police contingents at the vulnerable points the places of worships including the Imam Bargahs have been in high security alert to maintain peace and tranquility with prime focus to frustrate any untoward incident in the area during religious gatherings of Muharram official sources told APP here on Friday

It may be added that complete sectarian harmony prevails across AJK following the mutual harmony among all sects and brotherhood among the Muslims belonging to all schools of thought besides the minority communities

The AJK government including the State Police authorities have given final touches to the fool proof security arrangements across AJK including in all three districts of Mirpur Kotli and Bhimbher in this division

The authorities have decided to put the police on high alert at all the entry and exit points leading to the AJK districts to discourage the entry of any unscrupulous and anti-social element Besides Divisional Commissioners and DIGs of police of all three divisions, Deputy Commissioners of all ten districts of AJK as well as the concerned district police chiefs and senior officials of other law enforcement agencies have linked the fool proof security arrangements in this connection for implementation during whole of the holy month especially on the sanctified days of 9th and 10th of Muharram ul Haram respectively on Friday and Saturday
