PTI’s ineptitude, flawed policies pushed economy to brink of collapse: Muqam

Adviser to the Prime Minister Engr Amir Muqam here on Sunday said that Imran Imran Niazi has destroyed peace and economy of the country through his flawed policies and rampant corruption during his four years rule in centre and 10 years in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“The PML-N believed in practical work and would reestablish peace in the country including KP and would take Pakistan out of the difficult economic situation.”

Addressing a big a party workers convention here, Amir Muqam said that Nawaz Sharif government had eliminated terrorism and established peace in the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa besides resettling millions of IDPs of Malakand division including Swat in their native areas with dignity.

Amir Muqam who is the President of PML-N KP, said that Imran Khan was failed to provide 10 million jobs and 5 million houses to people despite his tall pledges and the people of KP would make him accountable for his lies-based politics.

He said all the mega development projects including electricity, gas and roads infrastructure launched by the Nawaz Sharif government for the people of Swat were closed by the former PTI government to deprive people from development and said that Imran Khan and PTI’s former lawmakers including former CM Mahmood Khan would face people wrath in the election.

Amir Muqam said these pending projects would be completed by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz government for the benefits of the people of Swat.

He said that the people of Swat knew that Kalam-Bahrain road, Swat Expressway and other mega projects for Swat were approved during the government of Nawaz Sharif and PTI can’t deceive the masses by merely fixing its sign boards.

He said the former PTI government has failed to start any mega development project in KP in the last five years and deplored for changing the name of Nawaz

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan on Sunday called for forging new linkages between Pakistan and the United States in a number of fields, including education, research and technology, during a visit to the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

One of the key features of the US-Pakistan relationship is that it is people-centric, he said while speaking to the university students. People-topeople ties have been at the heart of this relationship, the ambassador added.

Pakistan’s Consul General in New York, Ayesha Ali, accompanied the Ambassador.

Masood Khan highlighted that links between the two countries’ scientists, researchers and academics have always been an important component of such people-to-people ties, and interactions in the higher education field between the institutions of Pakistan and the US are a very important dimension of the overall partnership. It is against this historically rich backdrop that our two governments have accorded high priority to deepening of our cooperation in the field of education as we chart the course ahead for this defining stand-alone partnership, the Ambassador said.

Kumble Subbaswamy, Chancellor of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, while thanking the Ambassador reflected on the legacy of their frequent exchange programs from Pakistan under the University’s Civic Initiative that is run in partnership with the US State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Study of the US Institutes.

The Ambassador thanked the Chancellor for his support and valuable partnership and assured him of the Government of Pakistan’s continued support in building linkages between Pakistan’s universities with the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Currently, hundreds of Pakistani students are studying at the University in different disciplines. During the visit, Ambassador Masood Khan interacted with a group of university teachers who visited Pakistan in 2019 before the covid pandemic on an exchange programme

Earlier in the day, the Ambassador addressed fifty students of Economics and Global History at Amherst Regional Public School to discuss the diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and the United States — with a focus on how students and youth can play a significant role in shaping its future. The Ambassador was received by the school’s Principal, Talib Sadiq.

Sharif Kidney Hospital in Swat. Muqam said that the hospital would be renamed as Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital Swat. “Nawaz Sharif lived in the people’s hearts and through such negative tactics, PTI could not remove his name from the hearts and minds of the masses”, he added.

He said that Imran Khan would be held accountable for his corrupt practices referring to Tosha Khana and PTI foreign funding cases. The PM aide claimed that Imran Khan had tarnished the country’s image after stealing a watch from Toshakhana. Amir Muqam said majority of PTI former lawmakers, advisers and ministers have accumulated billions of rupees beyond known sources of income while billion trees project was taken over by the NAB that exposed Imran Khan’s anti-corruption slogans.

Three suspects militants arrested in Lakki Marwat

In a successful operation carried out by the CounterTerrorism Department (CTD) in Lakki Marwat, three terrorists were arrested on Sunday.

As per reports, the arrested individuals were traveling from Lakki Marwat to Peshawar with a sinister intention. The CTD was able to apprehend the suspects by tracing their vehicles.

The arrested terrorists were identified as Omer Zaman (alias Adnan), Saleem Khan (alias Malang), and Ahmad Nabi (alias Idrees). The investigation team has taken the militants into custody and has transferred them to an undisclosed location for further questioning. It is believed that the arrest will lead to the unearthing of crucial information, as the interrogation process is currently underway.
