BRICKLIVE FANTASY KINGDOM

We’re getting the school holidays underway with another spectacular BRICKLIVE summer adventure!

This year, we are bring Fantasy Kingdom to Paisley town centre – so join us for this fun and FREE Family day out! Our amazing brick models will be taking you on a fantastical quest through our medieval fantasy land with chivalrous knights, brave princesses, duelling wizards and deadly dragons. And not forgetting Scotland’s national animal, Brilliance the Unicorn! Help Princess Orra on her quest to save the Brick Kingdom and defeat the evil Baron. Join her friends as they show you the wondrous sights in this medieval fantasy land and experience life-sized brick models including Princess Orra, Abbra the Wizard, Sir Studley the Knight, Chester the Jester and Torre the Huntswoman. Let yourself be amazed by Tarygon, our huge life-like green dragon standing more than 3m tall and 4m long…just don’t get too close! Follow the trail to reveal the Baron’s plans and help Princess Orra thwart them, returning her father’s kingdom to peace and prosperity. Our Fantasy Kingdom trail will get underway in Paisley town centre on Saturday 25th June, running every single day until Sunday 14th August. We can’t guarantee sunshine, but we can promise a great day out for all the family!

SMA' SHOT DAY

Paisley's annual Sma' Shot day event, one of the oldest workers' festivals in the UK, will take place this year on Saturday 2nd July!

This year’s celebrations will see a live programme return to the town centre for the first time since 2019, and you won’t want to miss it! The festival marks the famous 1856 victory of the local weavers in an industrial dispute – revolving around payment for one small unseen but crucial stitch, the “sma’ shot” which bound together the colourful shawls for which the town was world famous. The ever-popular Sma’ Shot Parade will be back this year with much of the entertainment taking place at Abbey close with traders, food, and the live stage. Not forgetting of course, the traditional burning of the cork! For kids, there will also be circus skills and ariel workshops and face painting. The event takes place on Saturday 2nd July from 12noon until 5pm!

THE SPREE

Paisley’s popular music, comedy and arts festival The Spree is back for its 10th year with a thrilling line-up for 2022 and a new date!

Live events will now take place in the iconic Salon Perdu Spiegeltent at the town’s Bridge Street from Thursday 1st until Saturday 10th September, promising a fantastic 10-day programme for gig-goers. The festival kicks off with Scottish folk rock favourites Tide Lines for a rousing opening night show packed with soaring anthems then Simon and Oscar of Ocean Colour Scene come to Paisley for an acoustic performance of all the big hits from across their 30-year career. The opening Saturday will see the Spiegeltent host an all-day festival within a festival with local charity LNP Promotions popular ModStuff celebrations, featuring brilliant Mod and Northern Soul acts – and the famous scooter ride out.
