Sustainability Update In 2022 we created our Sustainability Project which focused on the development of performance fabrics and knit yarns from recycled polyester, as well as sourcing Oeko-Tex®* certified cotton fabrics. We are happy to announce that a third of the styles in our 2023 line are now a part of this project. Sustainability Project styles are designated with this icon: Over half the colors in our best-selling performance fabric are now made from GRS (Global Recycled Standard) and Oeko-Tex certified 100% recycled polyester. We anticipate completing this transition for remaining colors by spring of 2023. The same look, feel, performance and fit of styles like the X210P and L210p will now be produced with a more positive environmental impact. We has also made strides in increased energy conservation. As of January 1, 2022, over 25% of the power used in two of Imperial’s largest domestic decoration and USA made visor facilities is now provided by solar energy. Finally, we have made a significant change to how our stock headwear is shipped which has reduced cardboard carton usage as well as the quantity of cargo containers needed to transport those cartons. We intend to make additional packing and shipping changes in 2023 to continue to reduce the impact to resources and the environment even further.
Our Commitment to Sustainability Sustainability is how we create long term value for our customers and society. There is not a more important issue than striving toward a safer and better planet. Our platform is based on the pillars of: Compliance We will comply with all customer, international, federal and local government policies, and audit for compliance and maintain action plans that ensure that we move forward. Environmental Excellence We will strive to create a positive impact on the environment through our business policies and development of our people. Our road map will consist of looking for environmentally friendly alternatives in all aspects of our business: raw materials, production methods and production equipment and facilities. Waste Production We will strive for zero landfill, and track and develop for month to month and year over year improvements. Energy Conservation We will do more with less through execution of a vision that continually reduces all resources. We will develop action plans that drive and track continual improvement across all these resources.
Our Commitment to People We hold true to our local community’s values, work ethic and diversity while continually striving to reflect the diversity of the greater community that makes up our nation. We know that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger and more creative work environment, which in turn delivers better results for our team, our customers and our communities. We believe that what makes you unique is also what makes you valuable. Allowing everyone to feel empowered to bring their full, authentic selves to work builds an inclusive culture that encourages, supports and celebrates the diverse voices of all our team. Most importantly, creating an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work is simply the right thing to do.
Our Commitment to the Game Imperial is deeply dedicated to the game of golf and supporting all who maintain the health of our great sport. We recognize that PGA professionals and golf course superintendents play an imperative role in this process every day, and we strive to provide them with the best product and service possible. We believe that growing the game is rooted in making it more accessible for all ages, genders and ethnicities and we support that mission through our partnerships with the AJGA, state and regional golf associations, as well as other partner organizations. Our commitment is to the future of the game, all who enjoy it and every individual who dedicates themselves to golf.
