apologise. If you have good taste, then do it yourself – you don’t need a tool. But if you’re artistically challenged, like me, then use a palette. Whatever you do, though, don’t pick colours at random. Rainbows are for a sky after a thunderstorm, not your website.

Timesaver tip Adobe Air is the latest in Web technologies. Adobe Air allows you to use interactive Web applications on your desktop without using a browser. The Kuler Desktop application is an Adobe Air application. I didn’t use it in this chapter’s task because it requires you to download software. But don’t worry, Kuler Desktop is made by Adobe Labs and is safe to download. You can find the application at labs.adobe.com/technologies/kuler. Somewhere on the page you should see a “Get the Kuler Desktop” link. Click it and download Kuler to your Desktop. If you don’t yet have Adobe Air installed, it will install that too. Again, don’t worry, Adobe Air is from the same source that brought you the Adobe Flash media player, and I’m sure you have that installed. Once installed, you can browse countless colour schemes on your desktop. When you find one you like,
