Bridesmaids The bridesmaids were two of Alanna’s oldest friends, Emma and Kelly, her beautiful nine-year-old daughter Grace, and Grace’s best friend Lauren. They wore full-length dresses in sage green with baby pink sashes to complement the bride’s gown and to work with the summer theme. The best men – Michael and Kirk – and pageboy Corey also wore baby pink and sage green within their ties and waistcoats. Both the bridesmaids’ dresses and the men’s suits were from Brides and Gowns, based in Derby. The theme Damon and Alanna decided on a summery theme incorporating baby pinks, sage greens and delicate ivory. ‘I felt my dress was a mix of modern with vintage, so my bouquet was made using roses such as Old Dutch to give it a vintage feel,’ explains Alanna. The cake used the theme colours but was modern in design to fuse the two styles together, while the room was also decorated in the same colours, with balloons, lilies and pretty favour boxes. Photography Photography was by Karl Bratby at iLifephotography. ‘We knew he was perfect to photograph our wedding straight away because he completely understood what we wanted and he had a fun attitude. Our pictures came out beautiful and unique, and we felt like we had a friend with us at the wedding, not just a photographer.’ Sources Venues: Thrumpton Hall, Thrumpton Village, Nottingham www.thrumptonhall.com Rutland Square Hotel, St James Street, Nottingham www.rutlandsquarehotel.co.uk Dress: New Bride, 102 Upper Parliament Street, Nottingham www.newbride.co.uk, 01158401414 Flowers and Cake: April Flowers, 8 Flying Horse Walk, Nottingham www.aprilflowersnottingham.co.uk, 01159414211 Bridesmaids: Brides and Gowns, 26 The Strand, Derby www.bridesandgowns.co.uk, 01332 267000 Photography: iLifephotography, 31 Nursery Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottingham www.ilifephotography.co.uk, 01623 474276 062
