2022-23 SEASON Concert Season Presented By
WONDERFULL A brilliant future is unfolding before us as we return – at last – to a full performance season for 2022-23. In breathless anticipation, the first notes of this new season are awaited by audiences and musicians alike. While we look forward to it all, we do so with the knowledge that there is an upcoming change on the conductor’s podium marking the end of a significant era in our 96 year history – one that has seen tremendous growth and development of the Philharmonic. For his final season as Music Director, Josep Caballé-Domenech has curated a powerful selection of musical masterpieces designed to celebrate the talent of the orchestra and his special 12-year connection with our musicians and community. This season is not to be missed; a capstone to honor the legacy of his achievements.
The El Pomar Foundation Masterworks is the essential series for the best of orchestral music served up by the incomparable Philharmonic. Time-honored classics are on the menu along with an impressive lineup of guest artists including notable soloists from the ranks of our own Philharmonic. Season highlights include major artistic achievements like Wagner’s The Ring Without Words, Strauss’ Don Quixote, and Mahler’s Ninth Symphony. Audiences are in store for a vibrant trio of concerts in the Al and Leigh Buettner Signature Series. Listeners are transported to a state of bliss in these intimate performances at the Ent Center’s jewel-box performance hall where every moment combines the warmth of community, musical excellence, and crystal clear acoustics. The Philharmonic Pops is 100% entertainment! Each concert is a thrill-ride with something for every taste and every generation. Come out for Celtic flair, mariachi exuberance, treasures from John Williams, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and the generation-bridging hits of Elton John, which will delight concert goers from the very young to those who were there in-person for the bell-bottom-wearing 1970s. Marvel’s Black Panther is the live cinema event of the season, combining on-screen adventure with a heart-stopping musical score. It’s all here this season. Sincere performances, memorable entertainment, and – most importantly – the powerful connection of sharing this experience with family and neighbors. The Colorado Springs Philharmonic is back, and we welcome you to join us.

Every note just feels more special because we know that we played a part. It’s as simple as that! This region deserves a great Philharmonic, and it’s our privilege to lend a helping hand.” - Roger and Jean, Colorado Springs
