Human papilloma virus has changed oral cancer which now represents a sexually transmitted disease. HPV is changing treatment and outcomes of cancer therapy. Because dental providers identify oral lesions that may be viral induced, we must be aware of the implications of the HPV in oral health. Robert Fazio received his BA from Harvard College and his DMD from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, completing two Fellowships in Periodontology and Oral Medicine. For 35 years, Dr. Fazio has been Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine. For over a decade he has been on Dentistry Today’s Top 100 Clinical Educators list.

Joel Epstein was previously on the staff of the British Columbia Cancer Agency and was Head of Dentistry at Vancouver Hospital. Currently, he is Professor of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, and Consultant, Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, City of Hope National Medical Center, Duarte, CA. He conducts a referral practice in Oral Medicine in Vancouver.

John Maggio is assistant professor at SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated in 1989. He is Course Director of the Cariology and Direct Restorations lecture courses, as well as a teacher in the clinic. He reviews articles for JADA and teaches fast-paced CE courses. Dr. Maggio lives with his wife and daughter in Amherst, NY, maintaining a private general practice Tonawanda, NY. Speaker Host: Dr. Peter Liem

Stephen Wagner is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a Fellow of the Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics and an Associate Fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics, is currently in his 37th year of private practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He received his dental degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and his prosthodontic training from MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas.

George Freedman is a founder and past president, AACD; co-founder, CAED. Author or co-author of 12 textbooks, including “Contemporary Esthetic Dentistry” and 700+ articles. An internationally recognized lecturer, he was awarded NYU College of Dentistry’s Irwin Smigel Prize in Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr. Freedman is a Regent of the International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics and practices in Toronto.
