Howard Golan is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He completed a general practice residency at North Shore University Hospital on Long Island, NY. After his GPR, Dr. Golan completed a two-year Implant Surgery and Advanced Prosthetic Fellowship at NSUH. He has maintained a busy private practice on Long Island that he shares with his father Dr. Marshall Golan. Speaker Host: Dr. Jimmy Loo

Neal Patel served as Implant Prosthodontic Fellow at The Ohio State University, where he helped establish many of the techniques and protocols for Digital Implantology and Prosthetics. He has become an internationally recognized authority on 3D diagnostic imaging with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and same-day dental restorations with computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM).

Mahmoud Ektefaie graduated from UBC Dentistry in 2003 and Temple University in Philadelphia, where he received his MSc and Certificate in Endodontics in 2009. Dr. Ektefaie maintains a full-time private practice in Vancouver. He is the mentor for the VanEndo Study Club. He is a part-time clinical instructor at UBC Graduate Endodontics Program where he also oversees the Dental Traumatology course. Speaker Host: Caroline Gorman

This lecture will discuss various aspects of root canal instrumentation including: locating canals, establishing glide path, maintaining working length and reviewing the overall mechanical and biological objectives of the shaping phase. Co-sponsored by Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialties

Shimon Friedman is Professor and Director of the MSc Endodontics Program at University of Toronto. Recruited from Israel in 1992, he is credited with 225 publications, 250 invited lectures, the 2008 Louis I. Grossman Award by the American Association of Endodontists, 2013 W.W. Wood Award by the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry and 2014 Award of Distinction by University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. Speaker Host: Dr. Preety Desai

Dentists may favor implants to replace root-filled teeth with lesions expecting better prognosis. The current best evidence supports good prognosis of retreatment. This lecture will review key concepts that will help promote retreatment when appropriate and avoid unwarranted extractions. Mark Lin received his dental degree from University of Detroit Mercy and post graduate Prosthodontics training from University of Toronto. He was a former “Assistant Professor” and co-director of the post graduate prosthodontic program at the University of Toronto. He maintains a private Prosthodontic specialist practice in Toronto and lectures around the world on topic of dental implants.

Surgical innovations can improve and manage certain clinical challenges in the implant recipient sites. Compromised bone widths and heights can be augmented using these innovative surgical techniques. Immediate implant placements in anterior and posterior zones will be addressed during this session.
