Pan American Concerned Citizens Action League, Inc. (PACCAL) is a 501(c3) non-profit organization and holds the distinction of being the only Asian provider Agency recognized by the Hudson County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Office on Aging. Standing in the 1970s, there was an influx of Filipino immigrants to the State of New Jersey and because of proximity to New York City, Jersey City attracted many new immigrants. In fact, in the early 1990s, Jersey City has the largest concentration of Filipinos in the State of New Jersey. Filipino professionals in various fields of education, medical, engineering, business, and other professionals started calling Jersey City home thereby contributing to the economic renaissance of Jersey City. Filipinos started organizing the community but while there were numerous Filipino organizations in Hudson County most of them are focused on helping the Philippines. Linda Mayo, the first Asian elected official in Hudson County and former Jersey City Deputy Mayor recognized the need for a culturally competent non-profit organization. Linda Mayo pioneered the founding of PACCAL with the help of a group of World War II veterans headed by the late Sir Col, Mariano S. Aureus. Linda Mayo held the position of PACCAL, president for twelve years and since then became the Executive Director implementing programs and services. Linda Mayo is also the founder and former president of the Ladies for Rizal, Inc., New Jersey Chapter, USA an official affiliate of the “Kababaihang Rizalista, Inc.,” an international organization with headquarters based in the Philippines. The first issue tackled by PACCAL is housing for Filipino seniors. They helped seniors in the process of applying in different Jersey City Senior Housing buildings. The first successful applicants PACAL helped in Harborview Senior housing were WWII veterans and through them other Filipinos followed suit. PACCAL was the first support group of PAVO, Inc. in its fight for equity and continues to help the veterans up to the present day. Next project was voters’ registration and citizenship drives to empower the Filipino community. PACCAL also is very proud that when Sir Dennis Hayes was the Director of the Jersey City Public Library, together with Lady Linda Mayo, they worked from 1994 - 1996 to build a collection of 500 Philippine books in the Jersey City Public Libraries. The collection ranges from current form of government and economy to history, culture, arts, and heritage. PACCAL Neighborhood Center has been a haven for Filipinos in Jersey City needing information and referrals to City & County government services as well as other provider service agencies. Some of the services are information and referrals on senior entitlements; referrals to affordable medical check-ups and health services; social and recreational activities for seniors; youth classes on Philippine history, values & culture, and folk arts programs; substance abuse education & prevention; domestic violence prevention; educational forums and workshops or youth and family. PACCAL has also helped many Filipino women who are victims of domestic violence. PACCAL is a member of the Hudson County HIV/AIDS Planning Council with voting members since 2001 and has an HIV/AIDS outreach and support group. PACCAL is the current recipient of grants from the City of Jersey City, Division of Community Development; Hudson County Office on Aging, Department of Health and Human Services, Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, Office of Tourism Development. PACCAL is a community partner of Asian American Federation for the US CENSUS 2010 and NUY-Project AsPIRE and Kalusugan Coalition in the study of hypertension in the Filipino Community in Jersey City. PACCAL’s by line: If you need help and don’t know what to do, call PACCAL. -2-

Pan American Concerned Citizens Action League 380 Monmouth St., Jersey City, NJ 07302

Warm greetings to one and all! As significant as its twenty-six years of productive survival since its inception in 1992, PACCAL’s (Pan American Concerned Citizens Action League, Inc.) astonishing achievements and farfetched social status had deliberately carved a niche, stamped its indelible mark, and principally perpetuated its advocacy within (and even outside) the Filipino-American communities in the Hudson County. In my modest capacity as PACCAL’s Executive Director for almost a decade I have successfully endured the mounting demands of the office I learned to hold dear close to my heart… not expecting that later, a more thoughtprovoking and tougher position would challenge my management and headship skills when PACCAL Founder and President Emeritus, Linda M. Mayo, full-trustingly bequeathed on me her CEO (Chief Executive Officer) title last April 2018 following her incapacitated situation brought about by the long-term rehabilitation process due to stroke. I just hope I could stand at par with the high standards she has set. But with earnest assurance, these hard-to-handle responsibilities on hand cannot interfere with tonight’s mostawaited ceremonious event especially with the impressive roster of awardees to be honored at the 26th Founding Anniversary. The “Cream-of-the-Crop” for this year’s awarding season has enormously guaranteed the foremost effectiveness and core efficacy of PACCAL’s advocacy in encouraging and distinguishing the essential elements of human advancement in a socio-cultural setting. “Congratulations!” is in order for the 19 awardees in various categories. May your success inspire others while it simultaneously serves as prototypical pattern worth-emulating. Congratulations, too, to all PACCAL members and volunteers that spent days and nights unrelentingly planning and executing tonight’s festive affair… and most of all, to our guests and friends who tirelessly support our every endeavor. Thank you for believing in us and trusting in what we do. All the best and To God be the glory!

Their paramount contributions unquestionably uplift the economic and social status of the community where we live while simultaneously serving as paragons of our youth. PACCAL pioneers in assessing and addressing the health and human service needs of the community and its people for two decades and six years. I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome PACCAL’s newly elected president in the person of Rolando Javier who has relentlessly exhibited his selfless intention and unparalleled dedication for the betterment and advance standing of the organization. Lastly, I would like to commend the hard-working members of PACCAL’s Special Events Committee for their indefatigable and determined efforts in organizing tonight’s occasion and ensuring the success of PACCAL’s 26th Founding Anniversary and Awards Night, Thank you and enjoy the party!

RAMONA GAPASIN PACCAL PRESIDENT 2017-2018

The pleasant elements of nature has given us this most opportune time to gather once again in this familiar hall for the immensely noteworthy celebration of the 26 splendid years of the Pan American Concerned Citizens Action League, Inc. (PACCAL). In my long affiliation with this service-oriented organization, I came to realize the very nature of its founding and the self-same essence of its advocacy…that duly stirred my compassionate aptitude to be of service to others who are in dire necessity. PACCAL has efficaciously weathered every deterrent and challenge that tend to hinder its capability to deliver and serve. In this connection, it is but fitting and proper to acknowledge the conscientious dedication of my coPACCALites who worked hard and contributed their skills, time, and effort to preserve the organization’s paramount vision and incessantly propagate its noble mission. With this goes my sincere appreciation to PACCAL’s outgoing president, Ramona S. Gapasin for her unprecedented commitment and hard-driven enthusiasm in disposing her duties, executing her responsibilities, and aggressively facing every problematic situation… such innately great feat difficult to follow. Tonight, allow me to acknowledge the presence of a “chosen few” among the men and women in the community who have successfully endured the trials and tribulations in their life time and had eventually proven their worth in the field where they distinguishingly excel. “Congratulations!” for making it to the roster of the 26 th Founding Anniversary Awardees. Finally, here’s a toast for successfully making it to tonight’s significant affair! Maraming Salamat Po at Magandang Gabi!

Steering Committee is a governing device used to organize key project stakeholders and empower them to “steer” a project to successful conclusion. Steering is not managing… Managing gets the job done but Steering determines what the job is to be done. So, the duties of the Steering Committee are to deliberate, make decisions, advise, provide strategic oversight, and to serve as the primary “advocate” for all the assigned initiatives. The Steering Committee aims to ensure the successful delivery of the project with productive results to benefit the organization.

SABRINA RAMOS Teen Beauty with a Purpose Born St. Patrick’s Day, Sabrina Ramos saw the first rays of light of day in the arms of parents Benilda Ramos and Bruce Kosofsky. Growing up, Sabrina leans toward ice skating, skiing, dancing, singing, playing the piano, swimming, playing volley ball, basketball, tennis, kayaking, watching movies, biking, and working out. As if these strenuous activities and artistic creativities weren’t enough to pin this highly energetic bundle of beauty down to her feet, she still finds time to go shopping, traveling around the world, and joining competitions. At age 12, she represented New York Barbison in the Hollywood and later continued to garner different beauty titles which included: Miss Teen Pinoy, Miss Liberty PAFCOM, Miss NY Glitz & Glamour, Disco Queen of the Fiesta in America’s People’s Ball, Miss Teen Garden State, Reyna Delas Flores of CAM’s Santacruzan, and Muses of many Fil-Am organizations. Competitive and loves challenges, Sabrina has won an international Taekwondo competition and top prize as a ballroom dancer. Her educational foundation saw better schools like Baruch College, NYU and Columbia University and currently enrolled at Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan with a not-so-elusive dream… that of becoming a successfully well-known Anesthesiologist. RUFFY RONAS – KALYE SOLUTIONS Excellence in Marketing and Advertising With an alter moniker “Mr. Congeniality” attached to his personality, no doubt this guy is superbly the toast of the community for his being friendly. Humble and God-fearing, Ruffy was born to Roberto Ronas and Leonila Santos Ronas in Sampaloc, Manila on the 15th day of January. The eldest among five siblings, fatherhood and its responsibility came early to Ruffy. Being a provider to Russel Yvann (17), Robert Jann (9), and Rhianna Justine (7) isn’t an easy commitment but the unprecedented inspiration he derives from his children made every challenge worth facing, everyday worth waking up to, and every achievement an unparalleled victory. A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Marketing major from the University of the East (Caloocan Branch), it was easy for Ruffy to take the right tract aptly armed with his innate expertise in Sales and Marketing he developed via his affiliation with various prestigious companies like Sky, Sun Cable, Filipino Cable Corporation as Account Executive; Cable Link Holdings as a Senior Account Executive; Pilar Development Corporation as a Sales Representative; Group Sales Manager in Nissan Westgate, Kia Dasmariñas, and Kia Sucat Parañaque; Curious and ambitious, he joined the school’s Seniority Chapter of Tau Gamma/ Triskelion and became its Grand Triskelion or President of the highly revered fraternity. His early New York encounter was in 2008 but went back home to further his skills and capabilities while employed as Area Sales Manager of The Filipino Channel. Back in NY he founded Tropa Productions, LLC and Kalye Solutions, LLC which focused in Live Broadcasting and Streaming via Facebook with specialization in advertising and all event needs. RHEYMAR “RAY” MARANAN Excellence in Photography

It wasn’t difficult for Ray Maranan to embrace a field very much in line with his innately creative nature. His distinctive style in capturing images through his lens and his practical know-how in angling and mastery of light and shadow more than made this hunk of a man a professionally skilled lensman. Oftentimes mistaken as a model than a photographer (his sophisticated cameras and expensive photography gadgets easily give away his status), Ray never expected that his hobby would be one of the major sources of his livelihood and (never) imagined he would be one of the most in-demand lensmen here about. Currently with a permanent day job in a reputable construction firm while deliberately building a clout of connection in various community groups (he’s actively involved with the JCI-Manhattan Chapter, Knights of Rizal-NY, and other social and civic assemblies), the timorous but approachable brawny shutterbug from Batangas could instantaneously turn into a gregarious prankster once he gets the comfortable impression of the crowd. Affable and easy-to-deal-with, Ray, after having had serviced numerous events and occasions and skillfully mastered his craft, is merely waiting for his big break in the field and plans to establish his dream studio equipped with the latest technology and equipment.

MICHELLE PROSS Entertainer of the Year

A established singer-performer, ramp and print ad model, a modern-day professional exponent of Florence Nightingale (nurse), a dotting daughter of a US Navy Veteran and a Filipina Mom, and Michelle, an incredibly gorgeous chanteuse with a wide vocal range and enticing stage presence, has been performing in the music scene since 2004. She has travelled around Asia (Dubai, China, Abu Dhabi, Hong-Kong and Bahrain) as the lead female vocalist of her band. Her electrifying presence on stage makes her far different from other performers in her league while her unique vocal sound easily gives her that peculiarly distinct identity all her own. More popularly dubbed as Michelle Michelle, the voluptuous singer- performer has shared the same stage with equally most in-demand local artists and has appeared in mainstream concerts of big name recording and movie celebrities like Regine Velasquez, Ariel Rivera, Coco Martin, and Sarah Geronimo. Currently the toast of the New York watering holes and entertainment venues, Michele Michelle is slowly but surely stamping her mark and indelibly etching her moniker in the annals of the local music scene. Catch her every weekend at the local party places around Queens and the tri-state area.

PETER MARCO Excellence in Visual Arts and Prints Painting, as a creative expression, has traversed into a different dimension for Peter Marco after he had lucratively enjoyed the art of animated interplay and profoundly displayed his innate ingenuity in diversely limitless possibilities. A world-famous legendary NYC-born and bred POP artist of the 21st century who has been measured up to be at par with Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, Peter Marco holds the distinction of being inimitable and his art, indubitably a paucity in its category. Having had stanchly defied and tenaciously disregarded the formalities and rules of the art of painting styles, Peter Marco belligerently paved his own path towards a more personal technique and method to peculiarly express his ingenuity, carve his distinct niche, and stamp the individuality of his mark. Marco’s maiden canvas was actually the walls of his infinitesimal basement apartment which is why he loves to create murals to this day. Numerous artistic ideas remain crowding his mind and spacious walls are just perfect canvases where to pour out and freely express his thoughts. Although majority of art buyers and collectors still value the traditional Renaissance and realism-style paintings but there are still those with different art perspective and preference who commissioned Marco to create original paintings for celebrity clients like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Moby Flave, Marc Ecko, The Jonas Brothers, Tiki Barber, Russell Simmons, and LL Cool J. One-time Vice-President of NYC Lower East Side Business Improvement District, Marco had the privilege of working with some of the world’s famous organizations, celebrities, and brands: UNICEF, John Legend, Quentin Torrentino, Toys R Us, Moby, Japan Airlines, and MTV, MarcoArt, a lifestyle Pop Art brand, has co-branded with Swatch Watch, published children’s books, has his own clothing and product line in Japan, an animated children’s cartoon film and television shows in the UAE, an illustrated novel, has donated his artworks to various philanthropic gala and charitable fundraising events, and hugely contributed to finding a cure for autism.

JAN PAUL A. PABLO Excellence in Teaching Profession Jan Paul A. Pablo has been a model young teacher since 2008 because of his excellent educational background, dedication to students of special needs, and strong leadership through the handling of multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency. He was raised by his parents Paul Pablo and Dr. Josefina Albano when he came to the United States in 1990 at a very young age. Jan Paul was educated in Wagner College, Staten Island both with his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology and Master of Science in Childhood Education/Special Education with a GPA of 3.957. As a teacher in three different schools, he has been inspirational due to his compassion and enthusiasm to teach autistic children while simultaneously showing the best quality of being a general and special education teacher through the spirit of cooperation and collaboration with a team of professionals: teachers, therapists, and psychologists. These schools are proud of his achievements as a teacher: St. Joseph Hill Academy, Staten Island Community Charter School, and Seton Foundation for Learning throughout the years because he has proven to be highly resourceful and organized in the classroom. Jan Paul’s significant contribution to the education field was being the Coordinator of the “Project Lead the Way” STEM Program. He has helped children of various skills to connect the classroom and the outside world. His performance as a leader reflects reliability and professionalism. The community recognizes his service as the Head Track and Field Coach to high school students. - 16 -

TAKE THE STAGE Most Promising Teen Band of the Year Hans Garcia – Vocals, Lead Guitar, Keyboards Shane Garcia – Vocals & drums Kiel Calonzo – Vocals and Bass Brandon Costas Dionisio – Guitar & Vocals A few years back Queens, New York gave birth to TakeTheStage, a promising group of fresh talented musicians noticeably climbing the ladder to fame while simultaneously carving a name and stamping its notable mark in the archives of the entertainment arena across the country and overseas. The quintessential “IT Factor” of this promising all-male-group could be evident in their youthful charm and wholesome image every shrieking female teenage fan would be honored (and fearless enough) to introduce not only to their green-eyed peers but to mama, as well. Obviously, these young alternative indie rock band / musicians from Astoria, New York effortlessly appeal not only to preteen crowd and adolescent followers, but even to the more mature audiences. Their charismatic appeal irresistibly hits all genders regardless of age and status. Noticeably, these seemingly polite young musicians could easily pass as altar boys with the way they greet elders…bowing as they kiss the hands for blessing... an old-time Filipino custom of respect and reverence… such paucity among the youth. Meet the inspiring young souls composing TakeTheStage that initially took off with just the Garcia siblings in 2012, recruited their cousin Kiel in 2013, and after performing for almost five years, they took with them childhood friend Brandon in early 2018. Hans Garcia, Lead guitar / Keyboards, and vocals, is18 and a senior at Borough of Manhattan Community College. Shane Garcia, Drum / Vocals, is 14 and a student of Fiorello La Guardia High School. Juan Ezekiel Calonzo, Bass guitar / Vocals, is 18 and BS Nursing student at William Paterson University, and Brandon Costas Dionisio, Guitar / Vocals, is enrolled at Baruch College taking up BS Accountancy. Just recently tied down to a contract with Universal Records, Int’l. after a whole month road tour throughout the Philippines, the brand of music this promising bundle of talents had established in the east coast of the USA is gradually driving its undulating waves way across the seas while stamping its distinctive mark in the annals of the foreign music production.

KEVIN OBATE, DPT Excellence in Physical Therapy Sax Virtuoso

“Music is a soul healing rhythm”- Kevin Obate An outstanding contemporary jazz artist frequently referred to as Dr Sax, Kevin’s passion in music started back in 2010. In the late spring of 2017, he had a 2-month concert tour around Texas, California, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey with other local jazz artists. In addition to his compositional & performance prowess as a phenomenal sax artist and jazz crooner, Kevin is equally respected as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a motivational speaker. More importantly, he now inspires the new set of much younger generation (than himself) – effectually passing on his knowledge and passion in music. The fast-rising entertainer and proficient Doctor of Physical Therapy recently moved to New York and as in-demand as ever, the lyrical saxophonist balances his medical responsibilities with engagements at major venues throughout the tristate area including appearances in concerts and other special occasions. MEL AND OGIE MENDOZA (MOUNTAINTOP ENTERTAINMENT PRODUCTIONS, LLC) Entertainment Producers of the Year

Since the dawn of time partnership of husband and wife had existed and “living” together beyond the environs of their domicile wasn’t new at all. The couple’s tandem builds a more intimate relationship that becomes the paramount foundation to accomplish amazing things and achieve unimaginable success drawn from a common interest. Despite the current bleak trend and dubious scenario husband and wife tandem of Roberto “Ogie” Mendoza and Melissa Rubio Mendoza dauntlessly faced the challenge, unmindful of dispiriting words from fretful associates, and hand-in-hand they established Mountaintop Productions, LLC. Commonly, silent competition and power struggles often arise between people in cases like this but not with Ogie and Mel. The dynamics and tensions of working together could swing out of control at any given situation especially upon coming home from work and family matters have to be addressed simultaneously…but the power couple could face such situation with cool heads. Many would want to believe that the couple behind Mountaintop Entertainment Productions, LLC has good organizational dexterousness instinctively equipped with a diplomatic demeanor and great marketing skills due to the unprecedented successes of their produced concerts: Regine Velasquez-Ogie Alcasid at the Townhall in Times Square and “This 15 Me” (Sarah Geronimo) at the Colden Auditorium in Queens, NY. If there’s one major advice they could give to a couple who wanted to enter into a business partnership of any kind, what could it be? “Put your trust in each other’s capability … listen and respect each other’s opinion, and enjoy each other’s company, and while working and pitting talents and skills try to discover each other’s strength and weakness.” - 18 -

She recently authored a chapter in a leadership book, “Disrupt 3.0 Filipina Women Rising” titled “Big Dreams, Broken Glass”. The book was launched last September 13, 2018 and did a book reading in London at the parliament on the same date. A recipient of numerous prestigious and distinguished local and international awards, she was recently accorded with another, the Maria Clara 2018 award from the Philippine Independence Day Council, aside from being recognized for her major contributions in mentoring St. Luke’s Medical Center, Global City, Philippines in achieving their “Pathway to Excellence in Nursing” and by Emilio Aguinaldo College as an outstanding alumna for 2017, the second to receive such since 1995. In addition to the above-mentioned accolades, Myrna is also involved in various community outreach activities at local, national and international level. And for such bountiful blessings Myrna is very grateful but one thing she is most proud of and considers her best accomplishment --- her family… her husband Renato, her two wonderful sons, Christopher and Michael, and adorable grandson Cameron James. - 19 -

ALLAN RENIER MENDEZ, DPT Excellence in Physical and Sports Therapy Dr. Allan Mendez, a Nueva Ecija native, is a co-proprietor of Silver Lake Physical Therapy clinic in Belleville, New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Emilio Aguinaldo College, Manila and his doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Utica College, New York. In addition, Dr. Allan completed his Fellowship Diploma in Orthopedic Rehab and simultaneously a Board Certified PT Specialist by the American Board of PT Specialties. Well-driven, dedicated, and straightforwardly focused in his field. Doc. Allan remains unassuming and self-effacing despite the mounting honors and recognitions neatly tucked under his sleeves. This 2018, he garnered a couple of awesome recognitions, which he heartily dedicated to his family, friends, and patients: Best In Medicine (PT) from the American Health Council, NJ Top Doc in Physical Therapy from the New Jersey 2018 Top Doctors,Excellence in PT Specialization in Sports from the American Board of Physical Therapy, The Outstanding Filipinos in America Awards honors his Excellence in Healthcare, and now a much-deserved Award of Excellence in Physical and Sports Therapy from PACCAL. Romulo A. Aromin, MD Excellence in the Medical Field A quintessential exponent of a Taurean (born May 11), Doc Rom’s is undeniably swayed to the persuasive influence of one born in the Year of the Horse (1966) that is known for being reliable with keen penchant for beauty, efficient in financial management, low-key with a munificent heart, uncomplain ing and easy to deal with, but oftentimes faultily judged as condescending and snooty but down-to-earth in reality. The low-key but well-travelled doctor speaks with much eloquence with sanitized language but could be unpredictably boisterous and factitiously “out-of-the-shell” when the situation calls for such… particularly during occasions when associates outside of his workplace indulge in a hair-down jollity. His mounting academic activities were nothing but astounding as a resource lecturer on: Comorbidity of Adolescent Substance Use Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Substance Abuse in Teenagers, Depressive Disorders and Anti-depressant Basic Psychopharmacology. Dr. Aromin’s remarkable stint at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center all the more built for him a strapping foundation as somebody knowledgeable about substance abuse via his noteworthy clinical therapeutic researches on Depression and Substance Abuse Treatments. Dr. Aromin has effectually established his correlation with well-recognized prestigious medical associations by being an indefatigable member of the American Society of Addition Medicine (ASAM), American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP), American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), and a Fellow of American Psychiatric Association (APA). His impressive roster of professional experiences and enviable positions suitably created for Dr. Aromin strikingly electrifying status as a Medical Director of a number of medical facilities and Departments such as the Wordworth-at-Shawnee (1996-2000), Trinitas Regional Medical Center’s Chemically Addicted Program (2014-2015) and Child and Adolescent Partial Hospital Programs (2009-2015), and the Newark Renaissance House (2014- present) aside from his well-regarded positions as Associate and Assistant Director, Consulting Psychiatrist, and Chairman of other related medical practices. Needless to elaborate that his methodical academic foundation and expert clinical training rewardingly fortified his Licensures and Certifications that readily propelled him to his current position as Associate Director at IFH’s Psychiatry Department since 2014. His advocacy: “In the most recent years, I earnestly support the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) for I intently believe in every person’s right and privilege to fully enjoy living in a society with fair treatment… and I assiduously promote the eradication of addiction and depression by training more people to combat drug addiction. I love my profession so much that through its course I try to validate human suffering for those being depressed and addicts, drug free.” PAN AMERICAN CONCERNED CITIZENS ACTION LEAGUE - 20 -

DR. MANNY AND DITAS MALASIG Parents of the Year Having merely delivered a child isn’t enough to be labeled as parent for parenting is indubitably more than what the very essence of the word means and demands. Raising children entails a whole lot of dedication and lifetime commitment--- a career by itself, actually. Dr. Emmanuel and Meredith Malasig has unmistakably exemplified a partnership endowed with the qualities of sacrificial love, fully exhibits the qualities of personal moral value with religious commitment and possesses a noteworthy record of contributions to their family and community, as well. Currently, while Dr. Manny is a Medical Director at Merck USA while his wife Ditas works as Safety Manager at Safoni USA, their children were all wellprovided with the best education that met their personal interests: Emmanuel Carlo (a Business Management degree holder & married to Jilian)) is a police officer in Hanover, NJ; second child Ria Johanna Martinez (Masters in Clinical Counselling and married to Luis) is the director in one of the Mental Health Services in New Jersey; while the youngest, Kathleen Jade (Master in Occupational Therapy) works at Morris Plains Acute Care Center, Dr. Manny and Ditas migrated to the US in 1987 now with both flourishing careers and successful businessmen who operate rental hotel and resort in the Philippines. The good-natured husband and wife tandem who are proud grandparents to Lucas Noel Martinez and Olivia Wren Malasig (with another on the way) couldn’t be more contented after having successfully overcome major obstacles (emotional, physical, financial, etc.) to provide for their children's personal development and stable future. They have consistently provided the best possible foundation for their children's growth, security, and lasting happiness… a perfect recipient of the recognition as “Parents of the Year”!

SALVACION “SALLY’ CARUNGAY Senior Citizen of the Year In November 2002, Sally Carungay stepped up to help organize what would become the Seniors Club, Incorporated (SCI). From the beginning, she felt the calling to serve seniors, being diligent, dedicated, compassionate and desiring to promote the objectives and goals of the club. As proof of her hard work, Sally was awarded and honored as Outstanding Senior Citizen of the Year 2004 from the Office of the Mayor, City of Jersey City. She has continually dedicated herself toward the success of the club alongside her fellow loyal, sincere and hardworking officers and members. In an effort to help support and serve seniors’ goals and objectives, she finally agreed in 2015 to help raise funds as Ms. SCI USA with full support from her loving family. She is persistent in her firm belief that her hard work in the present will help contribute to the success of the SCI.
