Death Rate The proportion of deaths in a specied population. The death rate is calculated by dividing the number of deaths in a population in a year by the midyear resident population. Death rates are often expressed as the number of deaths per 100 000 persons. The rate may be restricted to deaths in specic age, race, sex, or geographic groups or deaths from specic causes of death (specic rate), or it may be related to the entire population (crude rate). Exclusive breastfeeding under 6 months of age The number of infants who, from birth until the end of the fth month of life, are fed exclusively breast milk, expressed as a percentage of the corresponding mid-year population, for a given year, in a given country, territory, or geographic area. Fully Immunised child A child in the age group 12-23 months who had received all the vaccines up to measles 1, at the time of the survey. Full or Crude Coverage Full or Crude Coverage is dened as immunisation given, evidenced by card where applicable or by history from mothers/guardians Herd immunity The resistance to the spread of a contagious disease within a population that results if a sufciently high proportion of individuals are immune to the disease, especially through vaccination Infant mortality rate The quotient between the number of deaths in children under 1 year of age in a given year and the number of live births in that year, for a given country, territory, or geographic area, expressed per 1,000 live births, as reported from the national health authority. Median A measure of central tendency. The median is found by arranging the values in order and then selecting the one in the middle. If the total number of values is even, then the median is the mean of the two middle numbers. The median is useful where the distribution has extreme values which otherwise skew the data. Maternal mortality ratio The quotient between the number of maternal deaths in a given year and the number of live births in that same year, expressed by 100,000 live births, for a given country, territory, or geographic area, as reported from the national health authority.

Vaccination coverage The proportion of a given population that has been vaccinated in a given time period Valid coverage Immunization given as evidenced by card Weighted data Any information given different weights in calculation or data in which values for some cases have been adjusted to reď&#x20AC;&#x201A;ect differences in the number of population units that each case represents.
